I removed cicada chx69 speakers and installed these ds18 pro-cf69 in my 2016 roadglide saddlebag lids. These Ds18 speakers have a ton more mid bass than the cicadas have. These Only lack the super high frequencies with no tweeter but that's OK as it was expected being listed as a mid bass speaker. These have excellent Mid bass, mid vocals and high vocals all sound superb. I'm running 300 rms to each 6x9 Highpassed at 70hz and are working absolutely great so far. I've had zero issues with any Ds18 speakers ( previously had some pro-zt6, Pro-hy69.4b) in the past even when I overpower them they take the abuse and keep on playing perfect. ... show more

I have ALWAYS been a Rockford guy. Nothing else, Rockford is THE way to go. Well, move over Rockford, you are now bested by DS18. Down the list they are top notch in every category. If you have the money to spend on them, DO IT! I don’t give 5 stars lightly. They take 5 with ease! I am running 2 of these, 2 6x9s off of 1 DS18amp with a sound stream head unit. Eargasm! I have them In my street glide. And a lot of people talk about Ds18 bn junk. But let me tell you. These are where its at. My Buddy has the Hertz spl shows and he gets pissed at me when I ride beside him because mine are way louder and he even has the Hertz amp and I just have a cheaper sound digital. Don't get me wrong Hertz is some sweet sounding stuff. But I like ds18 and I tell anyone, we can compare systems any day or time . ... show more

Given what I spent on these speakers I was shocked they didn't sound as good as advertised. Out of the box with an amp the sound quality was really poor. A lot of distortion, I went so far as to buy a sound processor to tune it and even after tinkering it for days the best I could get it to was louder than stock but not even as good quality sound. After much back and forth my local shop recommended I go for a much cheaper set of Ds18s that were about $70 each and they sounded SIGNIFICANTLY better. Sadly I couldn't get these installed right away and it wasn't until after the return window so I'm stuck with these speakers and money down the drain. ... show more

Sounds great especially with my DSP. This speaker will be loud without an amp, but will sound best when set right, as with any speaker. Grab a box for it and this could go on a shelf too.
