  • Energy Saving - Relying on the principle of gravity filtration, no electricity is needed. The gravity water filter system is divided into upper and lower chambers. NOTICE: When the bottom chamber is full of filtered water, please do not add tap water to the top chamber or it will leak out.

I ended up going with this system because all other ones I was interested in were sold out and on back order. I paid to get the fluoride treatment filters as well as the standard carbon filters. Installation was fairly simple. Instructions are in rough English (often not structurally or grammatically correct) but you get the gist of it. I've been using this system for just over a month now. We did before and after tests on our tap water. This system improves the pH by about 0.5 (our tap is around 8, so this moves it to about 8.5). It definitely removes the chlorine and other contaminants. The taste is great. It tastes like good, clean water. I bought glass containers with spigots so I could store it in the fridge after running it through this system. The only annoying thing I've noticed about this system is that the water filters very slowly. We have the 2.25 gallon one and it's take about 1.5-2 hours to filter 95% of it since it's dripping out slowly. Additionally, it never gets all of the water through the filters. The last bit just sits in the tank due the plastic capping on the filter. Not a huge deal, just something I noticed. So far it's worked well for us. I use this for a family of 4 and use it about once a day to filter water for all of us. It's well worth the investment if you've been buying bottled water, which we were. ... show more

I thought this would be a pain with the filter and keeping it filled. I absolutely recommend getting the one with a spout. Inside the tall piece of the spout, it has a red ball that floats and tells you how much water you have at all times. Without this I'm not sure how a family would get along without it. It is super easy to assemble, and I would recommend getting the stand and give some thought to where this will be placed because it is tall. I also found unless this is perfectly level the spout will leak. I saw a lot of people complain about this but there was no mention of it being level or not. I had planned on getting this for a while. I have not used it yet, but took it out of the box and unwrapped and have gotten it ready to use. From past experience I know what to expect. The water taste for me is not as good as OR or Spring water, but the fact that you can take this anywhere and filter water is the purpose I got this. I bought this unit to use at my off-grid cabin on a mesa in Southern Colorado. We use the community well here on the mesa for all our water needs, but I wasn't confident enough to drink it. For the past couple years, we've been hauling in gallon jugs of spring water. After the price of that water doubled, and growing tired of recycling all that plastic, we decided to try a filtrations system. This system had the best reviews for the price range. After using it for a week, it's exceeded my expectations. I don't know what the few reviews describing a "chemical taste" are about. We've noted nothing at all like that. The water tastes as good as our excellent well water at our home in Northern Michigan. It filters quickly, takes up a relatively small footprint, and looks good. The stainless container is nice looking, but it is thin so care is required not to dent it, but I think that's likely true on all of them on Amazon. I would absolutely buy this unit again. A couple notes: One, we bought a second stand for it because we wanted rubber feet on it to protect our counter. The picture in the Amazon ad shows bare metal feet. But the unit does come with rubberized feet, so that's great. Second, it's important to keep the water level in the filtration up without over filling it. We keep a pitcher of drinking water on the counter. When we fill the pitcher, we replace that same amount in the filtration chamber. People, don't over think the assembly: just look at the diagram instead of trying to decipher the broken English printed instructions. It's very simple. And soak the filters in a gallon of water for 15 minutes before using, then pour out the water and begin filling. We ordered the stand and the metal spigot; it's easy to install either spigot.     • How to Set Up Flouride Filter

The 2 Standard TALL Black Filters go in the Top Chamber where you pour your tap water. Put a Silicone washer on the stem then Insert the screw studded stems on the Black Filters downward through the pre cut holes. Put another silicone washer on the under side of Chamber on the stem. So it should be 2 silicone washers per stem. 2 stems 4 Washers total. THEN SCREW ON THE PLASTIC BLACK WING NUT ON TO THE BLACK FILTER STEMS ON THE UNDER SIDE OF THE TOP CHAMBER. MAKE SURE THEYRE FIRM. FLORUIDE FILTER. THEN GET THE SUPPLIED FLORUIDE FILTER SILICONE WASHERS. PLACE THEN ON TOP OF THE BLACK WING NUT ON THE BLACK STEM. THEN SCREW IN THE FLOURIDE FILTERS UNDER THE TOP CHAMBER. THEY WILL SIT INSIDE THE CLEAN FILTERED WATER BOTTOM CHAMBER SO MAKE SURE THEYRE CLEAN ON THE OUTSIDE OF FILTER. DONT SCREW IN THE WHITE FLOURIDE FILTE TOO TIGHT ON THE BLACK STEM OR THE SILICONE WASHER WILL BE SQUISHED AN UNALIGNED AND NOT FORM A PROPER SEAL. ... show more
