I had replace my well water pressure tank. I have slightly acidic well water and it was starting to corrode the tank from the inside out. I went with a figerglass tank and larger for less pump cycling. When I went to drain the tank I couldn't get any water out of it. The tank tee was completely clogged up. Could not drain the tank but also helped me pin point my water pressure problems as well. The tank would not accept any water. When I tried to move the tank it was extremely heavy. I had to tip the tank over and roll it. I tipped it over so it was upside down and open the bottom. The tank had some water in it but was full of sand. Had to scoop it out to be able to move the tank. So I installed a filter on the pipes before the tank to catch sand and sediment. I had also been having issues with my water softener head getting clogged up. I went with the 5 micron filter to catch the smallest particles. So glad I did. After the 1st month of use this is the filter looked like when I changed it. ... show more

i am using multi-stage whole-house filtration on our well. These string filters are followed by a 5 micron cartridge with activated carbon and a water softener. I used to have to change the first stage every two weeks. These will last 6-8 weeks. They are simply amazing. And the water is clear with the second stage lasting just as long. These filters I have used on my Pelican filter system In my garage they usually will work pretty good for 5-6 months depending on your water usage, our water out in west Texas is pretty hard with a lot of calcium these filters help with that
