I happen to love this style & design of this filter. This is my 5 th one over 10 years (they typically last about 2 years due to high use) The design and the high shine chrome "look" (it's plastic with a high painted chrome shine) upgrade the look of a plain faucet to something that looks custom. My friends all think I have a fancy sink faucet. Now, on to the performance: This product uses replacement filters , which are cheap and easy to come by when you compare the cost of bottled water and the purity of water you get from using the product. Filters work by using activated carbon (charcoal, basically) and filter out quite a bit of pollutants in tap water. The perk of the product is not just it's excellent performance & taste, but the fact that saving yourself a backache by lugging cases of dubious water bottle cases (who really knows whats in bottled water) from a store is already a plus!! The filters become economical when you buy them here on Amazon in 2 pk or more) but are usually about $18.00 each I constantly see people lugging cases of bottled water at stores and chuckle to myself while thinking how much easier (and economical) this product is. Also, no plastic bottles to pollute the planet or have the hassle of recycling !! Buy this product and make your life work smarter; not harder !! ... show more

I like my new faucet filter. It replaced one I had for four years. I like having a color other than white! The only it got an overall rating of four is because the filtered water could come out faster. I have issues with dexterity and really appreciate the large lever used for engaging the filter.

I bought this faucet mount filter for the office to reduce the smell of the water and mineral deposit. I opened the box and had it installed within 5 minutes. It comes with two starter filters (careful when putting the filter housing back on, it's wide mouth makes it easy to cross thread) and the light on the mount lets you know when to change the filter cartridge. I will report back with an update on the smell and mineral deposit in the sink, but overall installation was a snap! ... show more

    • A lot of work to install on Moen Noell 87506SRS Faucet

Upon receiving this product from Amazon, it became immediately clear that the included adapters would not work with our kitchen faucet, Moen Noell Model 87506SRS. We contacted PUR and asked for an adapter kit, which they to their credit promptly shipped to us. Even with this additional adapter kit, however, we were not able to install this filtration system and learned that we needed two additional adapters which are not available from PUR but are found on Amazon. These are the parts you need to install this PUR filtration system on the Moen Noell Model 87506SRS faucet: (a) LASCO 09-1607, Chrome Female Faucet Adapter (available on Amazon); (b) DANCO Easy-to-Install, Reduced-Lead Male/Male Faucet Aerator Adapter, Chrome, 55/64-Inch (27M) x 55/64-Inch (27M) (available on Amazon); and (c) PUR Adapter kit (request from PUR; it's free) (We used Adapter #6 in this kit) This is how you put these together: 1. Unscrew the aerator from the Moen faucet; 2. Screw on the (a) adapter above in the place of the aerator; 3. Screw the (b) adapter above into the (a) adapter; 4. Screw the (c) adapter above (Adapter #6 in our case) into the (b) adapter; and 5. Attach the PUR filtration system onto the (c) adapter. Your adapter kit from PUR (the one you order, not the included one) may have a different numbering scheme for the adapters from ours. In short, you use the female one that is supposed to go with an externally-threaded faucet. If you may get more than one female adapter in your kit, and try on each to see which one fits. You may experience leaks (we did and do). If so, use the plumber's tape. We still experience a small amount of water leaking where the PUR system attaches to its own (c) adapter even with a plumber's tape, however. We don't know whom to blame, PUR or Moen, but it was a lot of work (and extra $22) to install what is advertised as an easy-to-install filtration kit. We knocked two stars off the rating because it surely did not live up to the billing of easy installation and also because of the small leak that we cannot contain at the attachment point of the system and PUR-provided adapter. ... show more

Nice filter, wish it was a little narrower for my kitchen setup but it gets the job done. I do wish the switch to change from tap to filtered was either in a different location or firmer. I always tend to accidentally hit/change it while hand washing dishes and don't want to damage the filter with the hot water ... show more

The product delivers what it states, it will clean and give your water a better taste. The only downside is that my first filter only lasted barely 2 months, I hope the other ones last longer than the first one.

Wishing the filter was smaller somehow, as when I do dishes I have to push it around a lot as it gets in the way of rinsing stuff. But this has been really good for it's intended purpose-- to filter the water. Way better than using one of those filter pitchers you put in the fridge. Remember to push the button on the inside when replacing the filter, or the device will blink red at you, even for a new filter. ... show more
