  • Extended Battery Life - PulseTech uses patented technology to break down sulfation crystals back into the solution of vehicle batteries allowing them to recover, charge deeper and last up to 3x longer! A longer battery life reduces recycling and pollution, making our planet a better place to live. Our unique Pulse Technology has been independently tested by Ohio State University and proven to recover and extend the battery life of 12-volt lead-acid batteries.
  • The XC400 evaluates the battery during initial connection and tests it continually to determine the appropriate charge rate based on your batterys current capacity and condition. This TEST step also includes a Bad Battery indication if it determines the battery is faulty and cannot be re-charged.
  • Pulse conditioning provided by PulseTech Products increases performance and life cycles of any size or type of 12V lead-acid battery.
  • Ultra Safe - Fuse-protected, spark-proof, and water-resistant battery charger. No overheating or overcharging no matter how long the battery maintainer is connected.
  • Advanced Design - 4-amp battery charger features Pulse Technology. Most battery chargers say their pulse loads batteries with a higher voltage charge to break off sulfation in larger pieces allowing amp hours to return to normal. This sulfation collects at the bottom, causing an arc of power to transfer from one plate to another shorting the cell. Our Pulse Technology breaks down sulfation crystals into the solution of vehicle batteries allowing the battery to recover and charge deeper.
  • In the box - The XC400 battery maintenance charger features a rugged plastic protective case. It comes with an eyelet lead and clip lead. Five-Year Limited Warranty.
  • Versatile Use: The XC400 battery charger and maintainer is perfect for all land or water vehicles like RVs, outdoor equipment, small boats or watercraft, and automobiles.
  • PulseTech is an American company with a team of customer service technicians to answer any questions you may have.

  • Great charger
Already fixed my atv battery that sat dead for a year!

  • My go to charger now.
Bought this because of their pulse technology - supposedly patented - that is supposed to extend the life of your battery by desulphating plates in your battery. I don't have a battery tester, so I can't say if it works or not, but there were enough credible reviews to give me hope. Here is what I do know. The desulphation mode runs automatically and constantly while hooked up to a battery. It runs a test every so often while it is charging the battery, shows you what percentage of charge the battery has, and adjusts the charging rate accordingly. Once it reaches full charge, it will automatically drop into trickle charge mode - but continue the desulphating routine. If the plates gain "new" ability to hold more charge due to having sulphates removed, it will go back into charge mode until it reaches 100 % again, and then drop back into trickle charge mode. I have witnessed this multiple times on the older battery I have in my truck, so I am hopeful that it is indeed cleaning the plates and will make my battery last longer than their usually short life span. Because it constantly works to clean the plates, I have started hooking it up to my truck overnight on the weekends, just to give it a chance to keep the battery plates clean. I have also used this charger on my motorcycle battery as a trickle charger between rides, and it has worked for that also. This is now the only charger I use ( I have others ) and if it does indeed extend my battery life, I will not bother using any other. ... show more

  • Nice, but.
4 stars for its efficiency and will absolutely take a battery to 100% charged, lots of charger don’t. They shut off when they think the batteries charged but often are only charged to 80-90%. Pulsetech drives them home. This charger will restart if there’s a power outage, making it ideal for a storage vehicle. The xc450 does not! I’d have given 5 stars if it had temperature compensation, but for some reason Pulsetech doesn’t do this? TBD if this will be an issue in extreme hot and cold. I’m not sure if I’d leave this hooked up for a week during the summer without temp compensation. You may dry out the battery as this floats/maintains @13.9 which would be a little high for a flooded battery in the heat. ... show more

  • Great chargers
These are great chargers I have 3 of them working great!

  • Been using these for years and they work great.
Units are simple to use. I have been using PulseTech products for over 15 years now and I have seen a improvement in the batteries life span. It is a little on the more expensive end for a battery charger but I can see a long term payback on not having to replace batteries as much. Plus the system does everything just plug it in and connect it to the battery. ... show more

  • Quality & Proprietary Algorithms
I have been using PulseTech products for over a decade with fantastic battery luck. Batteries last 8-10 years on average. With the addition of another collector car, I called up Pulsetech to speak with a product engineer about the much anticipated and waited for 4-amp version of the Xtreme Series. The proprietary and trademarked algorithms that were developed for the US military are still exclusive to PulseTech and the extra amperage will help a battery that hasn't been maintained. When a battery sits for any length of time, it immediately starts to build sulfates on the plates. Their algorithms are designed to eliminate them, not just shock them to the bottom of the battery case. It's that battery plate "muck" that kills the majority of batteries well before they have a failure due to vibration or operating conditions. If you want your classic or modern battery to last, choose PulseTech (based in the USA). My original X2 (dual station) is still running and if you have a single garage with multiple toys, the XC400 is compatible with the PulseTech Quadralink setup (one XC400 will maintain up to four batteries at the same time). ... show more

  • I was hoping these would do better
I bought two of these chargers to see if they could desulfate and revive some older batteries I have. I tested my batteries before and after using the Ancel BA301 Car Battery Load Tester. I have two 13 year old non-spillable sealed lead acid 12v wheelchair batteries that were dead. These chargers did nothing to revive them after two weeks of use. I also used the charger on another 12v non-spillable SLA battery used in a portable jump starter for the car, and my battery tester showed a very small gain in battery capacity of 3% after using the charger for 10 days. At that point after 10 days, the battery started to lose capacity again. I think these chargers may work well if you use them on new batteries, they may keep sulfation from building up in the first place and therefore prolong their usable lifespan. As a plain charger, they work very well. In my experience so far, they do nothing to revive old sulfated batteries. I will update my review in the future with any notable successes in desulfating. ... show more
