  • I like FAT grips and I can not lie
The media could not be loaded. I own a product that you can add to your dumbells or barbell to give them a fat grip. (blue product in the pictures) These work great in increasing your grip strength, however they dont fit over any of the D-handles I currently own. When I saw this FAT GRIP D handle, and some of the good reviews, I thought I should give it a try. But I hesitated a bit because it's only a single handle. Normally when you buy D handles they come in pairs. But I thought about the use case, you dont always use d handles in pairs. And for something where my grip is being challenged, I'd probably only use single arm movements. Single arm bicep curl, tricep push down, chest supported row. they also show an image of it connected to a bunch of plates for a deadlift. Or it can be used for lateral raises, rotator cuff exercises , or like they show for an arm wrestling type movement (which is rotator cuff muscles too). So I came to terms with the fact that this is a single handle and I ordered it. If I feel the need for a second one I can always order another...but I think one is just fine. It came very quickly, I ordered yesterday and it was at my door this morning. It's big. When buying gloves my hand size is sort of between L and XL. Just to give you an idea of the size compared to my hand size. There is a lot of room between the handle and the surrounding frame. Most D handles dont have this type of room, most are made of a nylon or cloth strap that form a triangle and will rub up against your wrist or you watch during some movements. I like this extra space. As you can see from one of the pictures I posted, when doing a rotator cuff movement across my body, my watch fits into the open space and does not hit the metal frame. This is a good design, so Im not clanking my watch against metal. Also the grip is FAAATTTT. I show a picture compared to my FAT GRIPZ, its the same diameter. The knurling is nice and comfortable. The handle is very comfortable to hold. I bought this for specialized movements, but its so comfortable that I may use it for regular movements (as long as my grip can hold up), it just feels really nice in the hand. The grip also spins really nice and smoothly. There is no friction or skipping or jitteriness when it spins, but its also not insanely loose where you feel like there is no control. Added video of it spinning. This is a great product, well designed and well made from a no name brand. The included carabiner is avg bulk carabiner quality...nothing special there. I do always appreciate an extra nice carabiner, but the product more than makes up for an included bulk carabiner...they didnt have to include one and I would have been happy with the handle anyhow. I look forward to increased grip strength and big ol' forearms. ... show more

  • Great piece of equipment but a little sticky
Generally speaking, I have to say I love this as a piece of workout gear. I had another one that is very very similar to this but with a slightly different sized frame. I like it so much I decided to get another one so I can work both arms at once. They're great for farmer's walks and deadlifts (working mostly grip because of the range of motion). I use them for wrist curls and bicep curls too, singly and together. For this unit specifically, I was a little disappointed because the handle wouldn't rotate easily out of the box. I loosed the nuts and oiled it up and it loosened up a little, but my other one spins really well and this one merely turns. So, this particular unit I got isn't perfect. I will try maybe taking it apart more fully and really getting some oil in there and see if that helps but of course the last thing I want to do with a piece of workout gear is have to tinker with it. In any case, it works well enough. I use this one for my left hand (which is a little weaker) and I don't really notice a difference when doing deadlifts and/or farmer's walks. This is one of my favorite devices overall and probably my absolute favorite for working my grip. ... show more

  • Get a grip! Don’t let it slip!
The weld on this fat grip attachment is clean and solid. The coating is nice and consistent, and the roller has smooth action. It’s quality built. However, the knurling is lacking. The lack of good knurling might make for some difficulty keeping a grip, especially if you have smaller hands and a weaker grip, or sweaty palms. Given the overall build quality, this grip is still a recommend at 3.5 stars. The lack of good, raised knurling prevents a 4 star rating. ... show more

  • Fat D Handle for the home gym
This is super cool! I am very much into grip training and any attachment that is fatter than normal challenges your grip strength to make you stronger. Originally my thought was to use it for my lat tower but did not realize until reading the description all the other ways it can be used. I am not into arm wrestling so I cannot comment on how well it does or does not work for that application but I can comment on others. I used this for the lat tower for single arm pulls and also for biceps curls on the low row. I also used it as a deadlift handle which also worked very well since it is super wide. The photos do not do this justice to just how large this attachment really is. It is a massive handle! Had I payed closer attention to the dimensions listed (6.7" x 2.36") I would have realized this much sooner. I am still happy to have it since it is so versatile. When they say heavy duty they are not kidding. I wanted to weigh this since the weight is not listed but my scale doesn't recognize anything less than five pounds so I weighed myself and then weighed myself holding this. In doing so I learned this weighs 3 pounds which is not heavy but it is heavy for this type of attachment. This attachment is a game changer for workouts and although not everyone wants to focus on grip strength for those who do they will really like this attachment like I do. I tried to include photos to better show the size of this. The first and third photos are different angle shots taken. The middle photo is a comparison of this verses a normal sized similar type handle. ... show more

  • Great Design
Nice heavy D-Handle. The size of the barrel is great to train grip strength while pulling. The knurling could be a bit better, but in general, the construction is solid and should last a very long time.

  • Solid build and works as expected
Solid attachment, feels really sturdy and gives the impression it can handle a lot of weight without any issues. The grip itself is thick and works great as a grip trainer, definitely adds an extra challenge to pulls. The rotation on the inner part is smooth, no weird catches or grinding. Overall, it’s a great addition to my setup, especially at this price point. ... show more
