I have no idea how long our bettas were freezing, but I felt bad for letting their water get so cold. This heater has a light, so you know it's getting power, and the light changes from red to green to show if it's heating or idle. It's really reassuring to glance at the heater from across the room and see the light occasionally flipping back and forth between red and green, so you know it's working as usual. We have two different temperature stickers, and both show the water staying between 78-80 degrees Fahrenheit. I liked it so much, I bought another one for our turtle. I have a 1 gallon tank, and the heater keeps the water at a consistent temperature of 78-80 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the ideal temperature for betta fish, so I'm confident that my fish is staying healthy. The heater is very easy to set up. You just plug it in, and it starts heating up the water. Got a three and a half gallon tank from a betta with a lot of plants stones and seashells supporting natural substrata. The heater exists nicely in the back corner on a suction cup, and works entirely on autopilot - turning on at 75° and off at 78°. I use it for my Betta fish 5 gallon tank. Before buying and using the heater the water in the tank was usually at 70 degrees F. Now with the water heater is 78 to 79 degrees constantly. It took like 4 hours to change the temperature in the tank. The thermometer that is in the water heater box is not good, try to use another one. In overall this product is great! ... show more

love that i don't have to adjust this at all. easy to install. accurately keeping my hospital tank at an even 78° aside from when the heat gets excessive here. only a couple days this summer did it reach 81-82° highly recommended for small tanks of community or tropical type fish

Easy to install, the water does evaporate quicker than if you did not have it but the temperature stays at a comfortable warmth for my beta. He’s been so chill since installing it.

This is the best mini heater I’ve had, and is doing very well so far. It’s easy to attach to glass and keeps the temperature pretty much the same. Would recommend for smaller containers of water.
