This brush cutter is designed for both professional and home users, it is ideal for maintaining large and small areas, cutting thick brush, trimming grass and weeds around trees and keeping the garden tidy. This video shows how to assemble the machine correctly, it can avoid the trouble of incorrect assembly. 2 HP 2-cycle 51.7 cc engine provides more power with easy starter, it can trim bigger branches efficiently. Ergonomic harness with broad back support, shoulder straps and hip belt that distributes the load over a larger area. Effective anti-vibration dampeners absorb vibration, reducing stress on the user's arms and hands. The soild internal shaft on the PBC52 sopports many cutting head options including metal cutting blades. Smooth mowing action to cover large areas efficiently. Starts fine, but stalls when I press the throttle or open the choke. Why? Usually not a defect. Check: 1.Warm up 60s (<15°C: half choke). 2.Clean/replace fuel filter. 3.Clean/adjust carburetor. 4.Clean tank vent. 5.Tighten intake screws. My brand-new machine won't start. What should I check? Check: Correct starting procedure (new machines often flood). Fuel/oil ratio: 40:1. Never-used machine? Clear flooding and restart. Still won't start? Send a starting video + serial number photo. We'll arrange a replacement power unit. The blade spins, but it stops when touching branches or grass and cannot cut. What's wrong? Check in this order: 1.Blade loose or damaged – retighten or replace. 2.Blade tangled with debris – clean it thoroughly. 3.Cutting diameter exceeds the machine's rated capacity – check the manual and use a more powerful machine if needed. The engine won't hold idle after returning from high speed, or it stalls and won't restart until it cools down. Try these: 1.Below 15°C: warm up 60 sec at mid-low speed. 2.Adjust carburetor idle (see video guide). 3.Clean the air filter. 4.Tighten the carburetor mounting screws. Still not working? Replace the carburetor. Some parts are damaged or missing upon arrival. What should I do? 1.Within one year: send photos of damaged parts and your order number. This thing is not a lightweight, cutesy tool. You absolutely need the harness. I got the 51.7cc, 2-cycle model. I ran it for maybe 3 hours yesterday. The first tank I mixed oil-rich, the next two were 50:1 as specified. The assembly instructions could be waaaay better, but you can figure it out after you stare at it a while. It would also be nice if the instructions were for the model I got. Also, the male part of the stem had been very slightly compressed so that it was a tiny bit elliptical, which made it hard to insert, but I was able to do it once I decided to just shove it in hard. As long as I don't need to take it apart again, it will be fine. I do wish the gear head on the front had a grease zerk like the instructions showed, rather than a permanently sealed head. The thing is also heavy, and the throttle lock switch only barely works, but I didn't really need it. The included hearing protectors are kind of junky. The thing is so heavy that is harder than I anticipated to use it to cut stuff that isn't along the ground, but you can still swing it up to cut horizontal brush 5' off the ground if you need do, but it's not ideal for that. Now for the good: This thing CUTS IT DOWN. I installed the carbide-tipped saw blade and it will take down wood stalks up to an inch or so without you even slowing your swing. Smaller than that and you literally don't get any feedback that you're cutting anything at all. Clusters of half a dozen 1" stems will slightly slow it, but only slightly. Only when you get up to really hard wood above maybe 1.5" will you have to slow down, and it will still buzz through 3" softwood almost without slowing. Bigger than that, and you have to let it saw through for a few seconds. The only problems I had were operator error, where I got the blade jammed between 2 or three small tree trunks, and I had to hold up the until while pushing the trees apart to free the blade. After that happened the second time I learned to be more careful in those areas. Also when the trees get bigger than 2-3" you have to ensure it isn't going to pinch. The biggest thing I cut was about 5", which is right at the limit, and that took maybe 15 sec. Now that I've put the brush on the ground, I'm going to rent a walk-behind brush cutter to essentially mulch it. As it was, it was so thick that even the heavy (~500 lb) brushcutter wouldn't bend it over enough to climb over it. I'm impressed. Update after a week: I've now used it pretty abusively for maybe 8 hours to clear brush. Some might even call it light land clearing- I wave it around at the base of thickets of brush and vines and briers. Many times I've hit a large stump from previous logging that has stopped the blade but didn't phase the machine. The blade is definitely dulling slightly, but still cuts fine. To change the tool, you need a new cotter pin, so you'll want to have small cotter pins on hand. I've been pleasantly surprised at how little (virtually zero) debris gets kicked back toward me using this. While you'd be foolish to run this without PPE, it doesn't kick back debris toward me like I thought it would; much less than a walk-behind mower does. I have two minor complaints/suggestions for the ProYama people if they read these reviews: 1) Make it so that you can rotate the head. Right now, it is only very useable if you're cutting things along the ground. It would be very easy to make it so that where the two shafts connect, you can assemble it rotated 90 degrees to make it much easier to cut along a vertical wall (like in an edger configuration). 2) It is VERY awkward to start the motor once you have the tool attached to the harness. It requires pulling the cord in a weird behind-the-back way that feels like it's on the edge of dislocating my shoulder. Setting the tool down and taking it off the harness to start it and then reattaching is an inconvenience. I have had this for a little over a year and a half and use it very regularly. We had just bought a property and I had to clean around 4 acres of really neglected hillside and yard. I was really sketched out when I was buying it and figured I’d use it till it broke and buy a husky or some other name brand this was just to hold me over till I bought something else. I absolutely love this thing now and wouldn’t trade it for anything else. Let me tell you when I cut someone’s grass for the first time and they see it they assume it’s a Stihl but when I show them it’s not there impressed. I’ve let my friends and family borrow it and have sold atleast 4 for Proyama I am a huge fan and supporter of them just based off the performance of this weedeater. I live in eastern Kentucky and we have some crazy hillsides the handle bar setup isn’t the greatest for them but it’s certainly doable. Not to mention that 1 tank of fuel usually lasts me around 2 head fulls of string in hard cutting so less trips down the hill to refuel. I have dropped this over hills, fell on it several times, and it fell out of my truck once and it’s still fine and doesn’t look bad. In my time with it I have never had it fail to start or have any issue with it running I keep good gas in it and use husky mix and it’s worked really well for me. This has way more power than I could ever ask for I was so impressed with the weedeater I also bought a chainsaw from them and it’s just as good and reliable as the cutter. Most of the harness’s that come with these are painful or are weak however the one I got when I bought mine has been great and by far the easiest one to put on and adjust I’ve had yet. But hands down this weed eater / brush cutter has been more then worth the price on our property and many others I cut. Only problems I’ve had are just regular issues that happen with everything I’ve wore 3 string heads out so far the original one lasted way longer then the replacements I’ve bought but I’ve been using the Shakespeare Wind-N-Go they seem to last a good bit. I messed up the factory air filter cleaning it and made my own out of filter foam and filter paper. And I was using the brush cutter head and hit a massive rock hidden in the grass and blew a hole in the guard. Then then them small common things I could not recommend these products enough and tell everybody I meet that’s interested in where to find them. ... show more

I bought this brush cutter with the intentions of using it beyond the makers intention. It survived for one year and a half. Presently my poor brush saw his suffering from a broken handle, a bent shaft, and a broken guard. But wait! Before you run off saying this is a piece of junk you have to understand. I use this saw in an exceptionally aggressive manner. When I am using the saw the safest place to be is in another county. I have cut thousands of trees. The tree diameters are everything from one to six inches. I have not been kind to this saw I have not shown it any mercy and it has lived up to billing as being a heavy duty saw. To be clear it is not as tough as the saws of old. But this is one of the toughest songs I've seen in a long time. The handle breaks because of the light duty aluminum. The handle mounting block on my saw was reinforced to handle the heavier workload. I have no idea how the shaft got bent. Despite all these problems I went out and cut down some pretty heavy brush today. The motor starts and runs great the motor could be a little bit more powerful but it gets the job done to. The handle offers great control although the proyama people could toughen this up a little bit. I would say the handle and the mounting block are the two weak points on this machine. This unit has plenty of power. Large gas tank. Easy to put together. It obviously it fairly heavy, but that is to be expected with a motor this large. The harness it comes with is not the greatest but it comes free with the unit so no complaints on that I’m just going to buy a harness that is a little mor comfortable and fits better. It would probably fit much better on someone taller than myself. But as far as the unit itself goes it has a great quality feel . Runs like a champ. I highly recommend any of the Proyama equipment. It worked great got it all set up and has great power, does the job but after 30 min of just trying it out and using it the the pipe broke where the joint piece connects the two so for the price I would think the pole would be made out of something stronger then aluminum. I ordered this to clear willows and brush. This thing is fantastic. The chainsaw head cuts through trees up to about 4 inches just like a chainsaw. I'd totally buy this again. Easy to use and seems good quality.
