Top Amazon Reviews

  • This saw is more of an accessary, maybe a good info
This review is for the 12” arborist style, top-handle Proyama, 26cc. Amazon sometimes lumps these reviews across many products even changing ones. No idea how it will last so early reviews mean nothing, this review means nothing. I paid $109. Price is always relative to results. I didn’t break it in like I would a $$ saw. I had no idea what to expect. I put 24:1 in it and did some idle and ¾ -rev oscillations and temp cycles across three run-rest iterations. After 30min of light loaded (actual cutting) usage I was surprised on how it runs. It sounds, feels, and reacts as a decently tuned 2-smoke engine. From idle to full rev. It runs better (so far, comparatively) then the 4 Poulans and even a 271 Farm Boss. The idle tone made me smile. If you appreciate chainsaws, it makes good notes. Note: Note it took more then usual to get the oiler to start to produce for the bar, I was a bit worried about that at first and looked for a manual oiler adjustment. It does not have one. Now it likes to milk bar oil at rest, not unusual or an issue. TUNING: I only had to drop the idle down after an hour. The low and high circuit did not need adjustment. Weird. The chain is not garbage, it chips like a “real” arborist saw and not some low-chain-speed garden saw. The chain tracks fine in the bar. Chain stretch was normal for that bar length. Before I installed the chain, I imperially checked the side to side slop; it was typical. - The fuel tank and bar oil are sized (in volume) usefully. CONS: Things that remind you this is a $100 saw: The choke mechanism is a bit sloppy and sketchy feeling. - The fuel and bar oil caps are a weak link. There is no capture groove for the o-ring seal. If these don’t break from deterioration (due to material quality) first; over torquing the caps will destroy them as they stretch getting squared to a larger OD outside the cap. Take it easy on the cap tightness. - The clutch feels weak, or I find it slightly inadequate vs the power of the saw and aggressive bite of the chain. This is on 8” of tree, dense and dead. Chainsaw peeps would flag this as more on the engine. - The supplied soft case is chinky but whatever. A new Stihl will get you nothing and you can pay >$50 for the crappy new Stihl hard case with no bar guard and no bar guard capture. I would care less about the accessories in this case, more a complaint on the professional saw industry. REVIEW: Overall, not bad. I’m tempted to get the Proyama 68cc 24”. I actually ordered one and it got cancelled by Amazon due to unavailability or some reason. I don’t need it, but be interesting to put against my MS391. “Can I borrow one of your chainsaws?” OK, here. Ultimately, we will see if this little guy likes riding along on UTV and ATVs. This is its temporary home. If your buying one saw or your only saw or your first, its a different situation. Get a 16" bar MS180, Echo, maybe the Husky. $200 saws with more utility. This saw is more of an accessary. ... show more

  • Nice Saw!
Very nice saw for the money. Assemble, add gas and oil and your cutting wood! Ran perfectly right out of the box. Bought this saw for trimming and topping trees.

  • First impressions
Ordered the saw on 8/22 arrived on the 26th. If you have experience with saws it's easy to put together. The saw itself is actually fairly well made, the bar is a one piece, no pressed parts. The chain is impressive, full chisel, no homeowner safety crap. The size is not bad at all with that being said it a little bigger in person then the pictures my suggest. As far as delivery and putting it together really awesome, I will leave another review after I run the saw this weekend on the 29th/30th. ... show more

  • Good product
They stand behind their product. If you have a problem they work with you till problem resolved. I own 3 proyama saws and think they are best bang for the buck.

  • PROYAMA 12” chainsaw
The 12” proyama chainsaw was delivered in a nice box with all parts but once I filled tank with correct fuel 40:1 and then filled oil reservoir then primed bulb and cranked saw. The saw would run but wouldn’t fast idle and once it touched a small branch the saw would stall and turn off. It won’t hold torque even when adjusting high low idle speeds and opening oil port to max flow. That being said, I do own a bigger PROYAMA and it runs flawlessly so this may be just a fluke in that one saw ? ... show more
