Description

Designed for use in fleet management, mobile video, fire, police, EMS and remote monitoring applications. Installation requires only a 1.25 in diameter hole. The included rubber gasket, adhesive pad and mounting nut seal the opening from water and dust. The smooth, slim radome withstands car washes and tree branches. This 5-in-1 LTE/GPS low-profile, heavy-duty, multi-element / multi-band combo antenna cost-effectively combines high efficiency and peak gain in a compact easy to install form factor. Featuring 2 LTE, 2 WiFi and 1 GPS elements, it is ideally suited for 2x2 MIMO vehicular modems and routers. LTE coverage includes all commercial and public safety bands worldwide. WiFi supports 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 4.9 GHz public safety bands. The active L1 band GPS element has a low noise amplifier (LNA). Proxicast's SMA Female to FAKRA Z (Water Blue) Universal Connector adapters (ANT-106-Z-SMA-2PK) can be used for GPS, Bluetooth, Cellular or other radio connections (not for WiFi). Just screw the antenna's male SMA connector onto the adapter's SMA jack and snap the FAKRA connector onto the corresponding jack on the back of your receiver. Unlike "pigtail" adapters, there is no thin coax wire to sap precious signal, break when you feed the wire back under your dashboard or vibrate loose on the road. I loved the nice length of cables provided except they complicated the install significantly and testing a Nighthawk using this in dual MIMO with TS9 adapters and I noticed a gain of 0-1db with this connected and mounted. Worse than useless, now I have a hole in my wall and a useless antenna.

As much as I wanted to like this antenna, it ended up not providing me with the results I was looking for. To provide some context, I was going to use this in a conversion van project in conjunction with a MoFi router. I really liked the low profile nature and the fact that it would provide me with my WiFi + 4G/LTE all from one antenna. Unfortunately, all my benchmarks showed little to no improvement in my connectivity. I assumed because my MoFi antennas are inside the van that my connection would essentially be garbage but I guess they are performing better than I thought because this Proxicast offered no improvement. I'll be returning it and perhaps be looking into some of their other products ... show more
