I was surprised, I couldn't bend it. I have had at least two of these in the past and I really haven't loved them because the C clamp designs like this have always bent under the force required to remove the ball joint. I just used this on a F-350 and I did not notice any flexing. This item is beefier then my last ones and that apparently makes all the difference. It came with everything I needed to do this job. I will nickname this tool "the beast"

Depending on a number of variables, this may fail on first ball joint, or it may do up to eight or so. Some joints, due to age or other factors may take enough force to break this. If you are researching these, there are at least a dozen various brands, all probably made in same factory (mine had identical tooling marks from manufacture from a different brand). You can bet they are identical, with the exception of the "O" brand that differs in a) that is actually US based b)does have some warranty response and c) which absolutely does use stronger steel . Due to these commonly breaking, I would recommend only buying them immediately before use, as at least in that case you get some protection from Amazon, In my case I was able to use this for two ball joins and and two upper control arm bushings . and then the "c" in the c-clamp spread rendering it useless. Overall value: Good, identical to a whole bunch of same production the forty bean range. Just make sure to do two things: 1) use it in first 30 days, 2) have a second vehicle avalable in case it fails and you have to rent a more robust kit from a chain auto parts place.

This press kit is wonderful and comes with multiple-sized cups! It is extremely heavy-duty and will work with virtually any joints! I am very pleased with the quality of this tool. It is a well-made tool with many uses, so I'm glad I got this!

The Prokomon Heavy Duty Ball Joint Press & U Joint Installation Removal Tool Kit is a substantial portable press kit for its current price of around $44 on Amazon. The C clamp is quite heavy and there is a decent assortment of accessories and a nice case. This set is useful for a variety of pressing, and even clamping tasks. Although I have a couple of bench presses. there are often instances where they won't work for the job at hand, but this will. Also, the accessories can be used for my bench presses and vice-versa. Pretty nice tool set for the price of a half-tank of gas at our local station.

This set is a lot heavier than my set I have had for some time now. The tool appears to be plenty strong enough to do the job. The set comes in a nice case to keep all the parts and pieces organized. I will update when the need to use it comes along.

Works very good at removing and installing ball joints and universal joints. Has three different sizes for pressing out ball joints. My box came damaged, the tool was without damage. I wish the storage box wasn't damaged, if it breaks all the way, what will I store this tool in?

First off, be sure to grease the working threads of the clamp. Seriously, don't skip this step - the threads require grease (not oil or WD40) in order to avoid damage under load. Just do it. That being said, this is kind of a budget tier set - but it is effective and quite heavy duty. In my opinion, this is the best kind of combination for DIY/weekend warriors like myself, especially for a specialized tool set like this. Very similar to what you might borrow from the local automotive store. There's a handful of way to use this set, from pressing ball joints to pressing universal joints. I've only had to use it to set and hold lower control arms and to remove/replace bushings in upper control arms and it did well. I imagine it might work okay for pressing ball joints, but those can sometimes truly require a lot of force (depending on rust, model, etc.). I imagine it would press most u-joints without breaking a sweat. Overall worth it. It's kind of on that budget tier level, but it doesn't at all feel cheap or flimsy. If you need one these, it's a worthy set at a good price. Great to have around the garage.
