The BRAND NEW FOR 2024 ProForm Carbon TLX is an outstanding very attractive quality-built treadmill at a great price! After doing a lot of research and comparing treadmills in the $1,000 - $1,500 price range from all the major manufacturers I purchased this one on sale for just $850 and I'm very happy with it. The original manufacturer's retail price in early 2024 was $1,000 but the price on Amazon tends to fluctuate slightly up and down all the time for no apparent reason. Despite this inconsistent pricing the ProForm Carbon TLX is a great purchase and an outstanding value. The ProForm Carbon TLX comes very well-packed and partially assembled in a large heavy-duty reinforced cardboard box that weighs 250+ lbs so I'm glad I paid the extra $20 for room-of-choice delivery. This treadmill has all the major features and functions of the more expensive treadmills without the big pricy high-definition touchscreen or other unnecessary computerized fitness monitoring "gimmicks" which are seldom, if ever, used. The ProForm Carbon TLX is designed and built to support users up to 300 lbs in weight. It has a powerful heavy-duty 3-hp electric motor, fully adjustable speeds from 1-12 mph, up to 12-degrees in adjustable incline, and a full-size 60-inch-long cushioned running deck... something you won't find on most treadmills in this price range. The treadmill also has a nice built-in 3-speed electric fan to keep you cool and two built-in speakers that can be connected to your smartphone or tablet so you can listen to music or watch a movie. All of these features are controlled with "Quick-Access" touch-buttons conveniently located on the nicely designed center console. The console also has a very convenient built-in shelf that holds your smartphone or tablet for easy viewing. The build quality of the ProForm Carbon TLX is excellent and the precision machined parts made the treadmill's assembly very easy to do although you will need two people for the job. My wife supplied the extra pair of hands needed and helped me by holding some of the pieces in place while I bolted everything together. It took us about an hour total and I encountered no problems with poorly fitting or missing parts. There is nothing more frustrating than poorly fitting, or worse yet, missing parts! I should also mention that a very nice set of tools needed for assembly are included so you don't need to supply any of your own tools... an unexpected pleasant surprise! My wife and I have both been using this treadmill to run and walk a combined total of 5 to 7 miles every day for the past 6 months and we absolutely love it! My wife really enjoys using the fan to keep her cool and using the built-in speakers to listen to her music during her workouts. I like how quiet and smooth the motor and belt run for both running and walking and having instant access to all of my exercise information on the full-color display screen. I also like how easily the running deck folds up and out of the way so the treadmill doesn't take up a lot of room when you're not using it. One last thing definitely worth mentioning is that you don't have to have Internet access or register or sign up for the 30-day free trial of the online iFIT exercise program before you can turn on and operate the treadmill as several uninformed people in these reviews claim. My wife and I chose not to use iFIT because we didn't want to pay the monthly subscription fee for it. We use the ProForm Carbon TLX and all of its features in the manufacturer's standard manual mode. All you have to do to use the treadmill this way is simply press and hold down the blue iFIT button on the console for about 10-15 seconds and the iFIT exercise program is bypassed and the treadmill will operate perfectly... no iFIT registration or Internet needed. You only have to do this one time... not every time you turn on the treadmill. In summary, the ProForm Carbon TLX is an outstanding very attractive quality-built treadmill with all the features you need at a very reasonable price. None of the other treadmills in its price range can match the value, performance and quality of the ProForm Carbon TLX. I highly recommend it and would definitely purchase it again!

The Proform brand has been very reliable for us and we had moved at one time and sold our machine. So here we are the owner of a new Proform treadmill. Amazon delivered this by truck and two strong guys placed it safely in our garage. We have a finished area in our garage so we did not have to carry it any further! My husband and I started putting it together and it went really smoothly and only took us few hours. Now understand we are older, retired and not in a big hurry to get stuff done. The directions were easy to follow. I had read it takes two people to assemble and yes it did mainly when holding up the deck up to place the storage latch bars as well as having that second person to hold parts in place while he set the screws. We did not have any problems getting the machine to turn on- just insert the orange safety switch and the power came on. The machine paired easily with our wifi. I scanned the QR code to install IFIT and we are using the free 30 day trial that is offered with a single person membership at $14.99 ~ there is another package that is $39 for 4 profiles but it doesn’t offer a free trial. The package made my husband happy he can walk in New Zealand. The belt runs smoothly, and the buttons are responsive when changing speed/incline. Some mentioned they felt the incline was slow but seriously do we need instant gratification with everything? Seriously the incline responds very well - it’s not “slow” and we aren’t in a hurry to get somewhere afterall we are on a treadmill! The speakers are adequate tho I used our Bose with my phone to get fuller sound. Treadmill folds up easily and we could roll it into place even with the small wheels that it has. The only issue I had was when registering for the warranty there is a space for the version number. I spent way too much time trying to find the version number and gave up. The next day after the Proform chat bot failed me, I spent some more time on Google and tada I found it! On your manual it has the model number then a PERIOD and a number after the PERIOD that is your version number! You can find model number and serial also on the underside treadmill when it is folded. The PERIOD is small and easily missed but I took a screen shot of it and zoomed in and BOOM there it was! Great purchase and now we have a wall calendar and a pack of shiny reward stars. It doesn’t take too much to entertain yourself once you hit age 70.

Delivery via Amazon was awesome, the fellas even brought it all the way into my garage to make it easier for me. Everything was packaged wonderfully, very secure, not a single blemish on any part. Only difficult part was getting it inside and into my basement (where my home gym is). Once that was tackled, putting the treadmill together really wasn’t bad. I was able to do it myself (as a small female) only needing help from my hubby to hold it in the air while I installed the hydraulic piece underneath. You don’t need an ifit membership or anything to use the treadmill (and I am indeed using it without ifit). The built-in fan is actually pretty darn good and the Bluetooth speakers also impressed me. I absolutely love the “quick buttons” for incline and speed so you don’t have to click a plus/minus button a thousand times. Obviously it’s pretty heavy duty and sturdy (weighs about 250) so it feels very stable. I honestly don’t have a single bad thing to say about this purchase.

So this review (as titled) is just my thoughts after just having put it together and used it on the first day. I'll update this review after 30 days The package arrived in tact and no damage to the box. The box was huge! About 6.5' long I think and pretty darn heavy. The treadmill itself has no visual damage or scratches to parts either. Just like others have said, I would recommend putting this thing together with a partner. I'm 49 years old and carefully and methodically put it together myself but some help would have been nice. I found the directions pretty easy to follow but the pictures could have been a smidge better with the fine detailed parts but no biggie. I did run into one hiccup and that was installing the hydraulic brace which allows the treadmill to stand upright. Was a bit difficult to tell which way that bracket went but more importantly which way the grommets go that you have to remove first! So when you get to that part where you have to remove screws or bolts first be darn sure you know how they go back together before you fully remove those. Now once the treadmill was fully put together I started it up with no problem. I read so many reviews that people were upset that they had to register through the Fit App before even being able activate or use the treadmill but I had no such issue. There is a huge sticker on the display initially that tells you to register your product but like everything else I just peeled it off and checked it. I plugged in the key, touched start then a speed and it went smoothly. Starting out with speeds 1,2 and 3 the belt seemed to be slightly jerky. After reading the manual it appeared that my belt was slightly too tight. So I followed the instructions to loosen the belt as needed and it seemed to correct the issue. I don't find the noise of the treadmill bothersome at all, not even the sound of an incline increase. There is some noise but no biggie at all. I would expect some noise from a moving part (shrug). I'm wearing ear buds and watching my shows on my phone as well while I'm making speed or incline changes so I don't even notice noise from the machine. Finally, this treadmill is heafty for sure. It's really got some weight to it and feels really solid while running. Now to breakdown and cut up all this cardboard ugh. See you in 30 days when I update this review

Treadmill looks and feels very durable. assembly instructions was pretty clear unlike most items with instructions. No problem assembling the unit., but near the end there definitely need another body. I subscribed to IFIT reluctantly. However after using it , the treadmill is more enjoyable. I look forward to workouts . This unit is well worth the price. It is not the top of line model , but this will definitely work for 80 percent of the people. Also myself and spouse are 66 years old. and really enjoying this thing.

TLDR: Treadmill works fine in manual mode but if you are looking to purchase for the automated ifit trainings look further. App constantly crashes and customer support sucks. I purchased this specifically for its ability to run ifit running programs that automatically control the treadmills speed and incline. My first 10 attempts to get them to work together left me with no choice but to reach out to ifit customer support (which frankly they shouldn’t even be allowed that title because there was no support provided). The treadmill and ifit would connect fine, then I would choose a program, start the workout, and all worked great until the warmup was ending and the main video playing. At that point the app would consistently crash within a quarter second and send me back to the iPhone/ipad Home Screen. I tried on multiple devices, confirmed I had solid WiFi running 350MB up/down, unplugged and plugged the treadmill back in, deleted the app and reinstalled, etc. It was at this point I went to ifits website and hit the chat option. Their chat bot told me to try resetting the treadmill to factory settings. I went through every page of the owners manual, no instructions how to do this and the bot didn’t provide me a link or anything helpful to instructions so I was forced to reach out to CS. Started with 1 department then was juggled to another after a long wait. It became very clear that agent had no familiarity with the product or the software. For example, 45 min into this he admitted he thought this was a treadmill with a video screen that was built in (not one you needed an iPad or similar to connect with). Now bear in mind this is 45 minutes of me explaining the exact issue and that I have tried several different iPhones/ipads, and I had provided both the model and serial number of the treadmill. The call ended with me being told he hoped the device would team would find a resolution and add it into the next app version update. REALLY??!! No timeline for that or guarantee but he could offer me 2 months free of ifit subscription. Ummmmm, how about a refund since yall are selling a service that doesn’t actually work as advertised. Thanks ifit for wasting a couple hours of putting together a treadmill and then at least 4 hours of frustration with your product and lack of support. If you just want a treadmill for its manual functions then this one is fine but if you are wanting it for the ifit programming then maybe the ones with the built in screen work better or a peloton (I don’t have any experience with either of those options so best of luck).

Our product: Proform Carbon TLX Treadmill It's a struggle to order something this big on Amazon, and we received the wrong item the first time. Amazon customer service is pretty good at dealing with this kind of issue. My husband and I run quite often, but it's sometimes too hot to run outside, so a treadmill is a must for us. My husband compared different brands and found this one to be the most stable treadmill in this price range (~$950 when we bought it). Suitable for people who are: - Looking for a stable and not wobbly treadmill. - Okay with a gentle maximum incline (~30°, see the photos). - Okay with the treadmill being a little loud when it's on (which is normal for a treadmill, I guess). This treadmill is pretty decent in this price range. It comes with an app that has different workouts, but you will need to subscribe to use most of the features. Overall, we are content with the price we paid and the functionality of the treadmill. I would recommend it if you have and want a stable treadmill.

The console won’t let you take a break. It hits done in a few minutes. I don’t want Ifit. Lucky I have my Garmin to calculate my progress. It would be nice to go to the restroom or get a drink without the workout being stopped. The clip is cheap and you have to slide it on. I will hit the dollar store to replace it. And the biggest issue was the install. Learned a hard lesson. The tools that come with this treadmill are awful. The delivery guys came and had a tiny handcart and somehow got this upstairs. There were two bolts I couldn’t get in and I ended up calling technical support. Waited a month. They sent me the metal piece that goes under the arms and new bolts. The technician came (he is fantastic) and he used his power tools and we didn’t need any new parts. He also helped me understand done of the maintenance requirements. This is definitely a two person job by the way. Elevation setting works pretty well but is not too rapid. You can change the MPH fairly quickly. The console is okay once you figure out which stats you want to see. I prefer to see just the distance ran. I did like how the old pro form had all the settings separate so you could see them all at once. The belt, handles and stand are much more durable than the older models. The major reasons I got a pro form was for the price and durability. I did hundreds of miles on my old one and expect I will see the same on this because they are well built. The fan does the job you want it to do. I am 5’9” and it is a bit more geared towards someone shorter as far as the bars. It is also not the quietest machine compared to more expensive treadmills but the quality is more important to me.
