Very happy with this product, the battery life has been good so far with Amazon batteries (bought separately), which was something I was concerned about, didn’t want to buy tons of 9v batteries. The detector won’t tell you exactly what’s down there but it will give you an idea and after a few days you’ll figure it out. You want to keep it level when scanning, false signals pop up once in a while but just double scan. Found some cool things, along with a lot of rubbish but it’s part of the hunt. ... show more

Right out of the box it was super easy to get started. Great instructions and easy for any beginner to figure it out. I've only been able to use it a few times but it was really, really easy to get going. I took the nieces and nephew out into the woods and on the beach and they had a blast. So fun for all of us to play with. We didn't get rich yet finding piles of gold, but we found some old cans and a few coins. The media could not be loaded. My husband and I wanted to try using a metal detector because we had seen a friend have some fun and find some really neat things with it. So we did some research and bought this one, we are not disappointed! It works as stated with a really clear and easy to use LCD screen.     • GC-1071 metal detector is easy to use for a beginner and have fun using it.
I just received my GC-1071 detector today. It was easy to unbox and put together. I went out for a bit to check it out and get use to the new detector. I had no problem with the detector and it was easy to use. I'm still a beginner and I would recommend it. I found a 1973 and a 1978 penny. Plus a old hot wheel that was beat up and had no wheels but I didn't really expect to find something like that. I had lots of fun. ... show more
