This is great for steaming anything evenly and without it becoming tough from the microwave. I use it mostly for reheating rice and steaming fresh or frozen vegetables. Dump in your dried-out leftover rice, add some water, put the lid on, cook for a few minutes on high, remove so the steam escapes into the room instead of the microwave and let sit for a couple of minutes. Then drain any excess water with the handy lid and enjoy! It couldn't be easier and it's perfect every time! Same thing with veg or re-heating leftover that can have water added. (You don't need a lot of water, but the steam helps food to cook or re-heat evenly and not dry out. I like it enough that I have been buying more for gifts.

This microwave steamer's size of 2 quarts is ideal for cooking enough servings of veggies for my family and allowing me to do it quickly and easily. Because of its size, I am able to prepare a wide range of vegetables at the same time, which helps me save a lot of time and work. This microwave steamer can accept a wide variety of vegetables, allowing you to steam anything from broccoli and carrots to cauliflower and green beans while preserving the vegetables' natural flavors and nutrients. Because of the steamer's solid construction, I am certain that it will be able to resist regular usage without being warped or cracked. After a wonderful dinner, it is much simpler to clean up thanks to the function that allows the item to be washed in the dishwasher. The usefulness of this microwave steamer is what really sets it apart from the competition. Because of its innovative construction and vented top, this piece of cookware generates a steam atmosphere inside itself, which results in the veggies being cooked uniformly while retaining their inherent colors and textures. This is a wonderful microwave pot. I regularly use it to cook all of my fresh vegetables with just a splash of water. When the veggies are cooked, I can turn it upside down to drain the cooking water. The pot is cute, so I then use it as the vegetable serving dish. So much functionality, and such a great value!

This microwave steamer is exactly like one I purchased from a cooking product party, you know the one (-: I wanted to buy one as a gift for a friend, and I compared the two side by side. No detectable difference! I bought this and the smaller size one as a gift set. These steamers make easy work of veggies, rice and more. Super easy clean up. You can cook a large batch of broccoli in about 4 minutes, fork tender. I use a tiny bit of lemon juice and dab of butter for it to cook with, and it is just delicious. Also a great way to cook mushrooms, zucchini or carrots. Endless possibilities. Can put it into the dishwasher (top rack) too.
