This is my second priority start I've bought. My 2015 work truck battery dies by the time I come back from vacation, religiously. So I bought one of these. My parents 2017 plow truck sits unused regularly and the battery dies, so I put one on their truck. My work truck has never left me stranded since and no more replacing my battery every 18 months. Installation was more time consuming that I anticipated. Choosing where to place the unit is not straight forward. Finding a location to mount the "Holster" and how to mount took some disassembly of the surrounding body parts. Need to check all the crimp connections. The ground wire connector pulled off the wire. Once the unit was installed and I ran the installation check test and the unit disconnected at 11.75 volts. Hope this unit will allow the pickup to set longer without having to be started.     • A product that does what it's supposed to do and does it well!
This device is the best solution for cars and trucks that drain the battery for unknown reasons. My truck, and many others from what I learned trying to fix it have problems like this. The fix could be one of many things that I didn't have time to investigate as winter closed in. This simple to install device monitors the battery, when the voltage gets to a certain point it disconnects the battery relieving any drain on it leaving the battery ready to start the vehicle. To reconnect just step on the brake pedal, wait a few seconds and start the vehicle. A buddy of mine that works as a mechanic for the town saw it on my truck and said that all the town emergency vehicles have one of these to always be ready to go. Great in theory. Doesn't work in reality. Once your voltage goes down to a certain point, it kicks the 12v off. Only to be turned back on by a draw of power (headlights or brake lights.) WELL, if I have a short in the first place essentially drawing power, wouldn't the short turn it back on? Evidently so. Worked for a week or so (although I just assume that was how long it took for the battery to die.) ... show more

My dislike is that I bought a new battery and this priority start and it didn't work it drain my battery completely after 3 weeks that wasn't in use. I highly recommend not using this product, really disappointed. I'm hoping to get a full refund or some kind of credit.

Worked for a few months then began to cause issues for me. Would randomly short out as I was driving causing the vehicle to hesitate.
