Cast Iron pans are redolent with history and tradition but they are really inefficient if you are making pancakes for four. This griddle is the perfect solution. It is very large, which is great for fitting up to 24 pancakes onto but does require me to move some stuff off my cluttered counter. It heats fast, with only the slightest of cool spots in the center, not enough to need to move the undercooked pancakes to the hot spots; just a little, so if you turn the ones in the center last they will be just as brown as the ones on the edge. The main griddle, minus the cord, is submersible, so cleanup is super simple. It does a great job on French toast, and grilled cheese sandwiches, particularly if you put a piece of aluminum foil over the top to help the cheese melt/center cook. It is perfect for bacon, since a whole pound fits if you put it on slowly so it shrinks a little before you get to the end. The regulated, even temperature prevents the bacon from getting too crispy in spots, and the grease doesn't smoke if you keep it around 350 degrees. Like all newer small appliances, it has a very short cord, maybe 3 feet, that is the only disadvantage I can see in it. It would be nice to have a lid that fit, to save on aluminum foil, otherwise it is a very useful and convenient griddle. Be sure to use a plastic or teflon spatula, so as not to scratch the surface.

This griddle is great, and big! I can cook six 4”-5” pancakes at a time. Some reviewers for this (and other) griddles have complained that it doesn’t evenly brown what they’re cooking. The trick to even browning is to wait until the heat has evenly dispersed throughout the entire griddle top, 15 minutes or so. Then griddles brown evenly. It’s easy to clean and the temperature settings seem to be pretty accurate.

First off, this grill is huge. The largest we've owned so far (and we've owned several over the years). For my family, we enjoy the "hibachi" type cooking where you're grilling veggies and meats and lucking them off into dipping sauces to eat as you go. For a family of four, this requires a large surface area and the Presto 07046 meets the bill for this. Plenty of room to keep raw meats cooking separately from the veggies. Secondly, with this large a surface area, we were impressed by the even cooking throughout. It doesn't seem to have any hot or cold spots. I will say that hibachi cooking may not test this as well as say, cooking pancakes all over the surface, but I think it would do just fine. The third reason is the non-stick surface. It's held up well so far, but all the other grills we've had, eventually seem to degrade in this area. This one seems to be as pristine after 40 hibachi sessions, and were more than happy. However, I'd like to pass along a lesson learned with these types of grills and that is, when grilling, grill to the maximum temperature necessary for the amount of time necessary, and avoid simply turning the heat all the way up and grilling at max temps for longer than you need to. Following this tip will keep the grills non-stick surface nice and new. As far as the tilt drain feature, it's a nice feature to have, but for our type of cooking, it really hasn't come into play much. There really isn't that much runoff from the items being cooked. I did notice however, a few people complaining about the moveable arms sliding out by themselves. Personally, I haven't had this issue nor do I think this means the design is defective. It may mean that their unit just needs to have the arms tightened. I would add this feature as a plus however, if you're looking to cook healthier and keep oils draining away from the food. If so, the liquids will drain into a removable tray. In terms of cleanup, we really like the grill. The tray and heating unit remove, leaving you able to wash just the grill plate. And although I doubt if anyone will have a sink large enough to immerse the entire grill plate in water, you could do this. Finally, the price. No need to say anything there. It's a deal compared to some of the other brands out there.

I absolutely love this griddle. This is the second one I have bought. I had an accident with my first griddle and melted it. After using it, I went to turn it off but instead I turned on the electric burner it was sitting on. While eating breakfast we noticed a burning plastic smell. Looked over at the stove and it was melting. The grease trap melted and dumping grease all over the stove top, we were lucky with no fire The new one I bought was identical to my old one but the plug is a little different. I kept the old plug and it works great with my new appliances. I can cook two whole patty melts with this. 4 slices of rye bread, two beef patties and grill onions all at the same time. Highly recommend

The legs for the "tilt" function are sturdy... for the most part. They have no locking function to prevent a "tilt" from happening during use. I say "tilt" because it does... kind of. I've never had so much fat or oil on this that it requires even using the drain tray. All that aside it is amazing! The size of this is perfect for a house of 6. It heats quickly and has good heat distribution (of course not perfect). Wipes clean easily, as I said, not even used the drip tray yet and I have cooked bacon on it. I do NOT use metal utensils on this, I use silicone utensils. I use olive oil if needed and have not cooked higher than 375 on it. No discoloration and no chipping in the coating. Worth the buy if you need the size like I do. The "tilt" function is unnecessary entirely but not too much of a problem so far. Just worrying that over time and regular use, the legs will loosen and won't stay closed due to no locking function for the legs.

I love this! I use it 1-2 times PER day. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, you name it. I've done pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, quesadillas, burgers, chicken, and fish. Huge surface to do a lot at once. Don't get anything smaller unless you live alone (unless you meal prep and cook a lot at once). It helps a lot with having less dishes to wash. Nonstick and easy to clean. Just wipe down with paper towel. Tilts for greasy foods to collect runoff. Heats to a good enough temperature. Had my money's worth in a week. I've had it for 2 months. It is a joy to use. I will get another instantly if it ever gives out!

I had been looking for a professional electric griddle because I didn't think consumer griddles could get this good for the price. For years I used cheap black Friday specials in the $25-30 price range and they would wear out after a year or two of use. I really thought they were all the same. After starting a Keto diet, I found myself standing in the kitchen for literally an hour trying to cook a big meaty breakfast with a very used Bella electric griddle. I found that thing so frustrating that I was willing to fork out $150 for the "professional" electric griddle they sell at Williams Sonoma, but they do not ship that griddle, so I had to look for something else. I even considered a real professional high watt model that goes for over $500. I got sick of waiting for the right griddle so I just bought this one on impulse. I looked like it was pretty big so I knew that would be useful for cooking a whole package of bacon at a time. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this griddle. Now, I've only been using it for a month, so I have no idea how durable it and it's non-stick coating are. However, right off the bat it seems like a higher quality than what I'm used to in the slightly cheaper price range. Now here's what's great about it. Heat distribution is WAY better than my previous cheap griddles. If the $150 model I was looking at on Williams Sonoma was this good I would have been satisfied. And, unlike my previous griddles, I don't have to turn it up all the way. I can throw on an entire package of bacon and be done in like 15 minutes. Eggs? Another five minutes. I've noticed a couple spots that don't get quite as hot as the rest of the top but it's miles above what I'm used to. The tilt feature is excellent too. My kitchen countertop isn't perfectly level so my bacon grease used to run to the back of my previous griddles. With this, I just engage the tilt feature and I can either make it level or I can make the grease run forward into the grease tray. Unlike my previous griddles that I considered to be disposable garbage, I want to make this one last so I'm already taking better care of it than I normally would. And honestly, if it only lasted a year, I'd buy another one because it saves me about a half hour of cooking time every morning and time is money.

Update and long term use review: I used this for ALMOST three years at least once per week sometimes twice. Unfortunately, it came to the end of its serviceable life as the cooking surface quite suddenly warped beyond use one night. Overall, it was a great griddle and I stand by my review below. As a matter of fact, I'm here on Amazon to buy another one to replace it. I just thought I would provide long-term use notes since the same model is still being produced. Again, the pluses and minuses in my review below remained the same throughout its service life. Non-stick surface was fine throughout. The only thing that got a little worse was its tendency to slide into tilt mode. I would still recommend this model. Happy pancake flipping! Original Review: I really like this Griddle because it is gigantic! I can cook an entire pound of bacon at the same time. No more multiple bacon batches before I move on to pancakes. With a proper preheating, pancakes come out nicely too. The Tilt and Drain functionality is pretty cool as well. I can see where others have said it slips into the drain configuration during use. I have seen this only a little on mine. Just takes a second to reset it though. The slight negatives of this one: it does take a little longer to cook items, especially when you have it fully loaded. There are hotter spots on it, so you have to rotate food around. I've not seen a plug in griddle that doesn't have this issue though. Finally, there is a lip under the cooking surface where it drains into the grease trough. Little bits of food get stuck in there and it is a little tricky to clean. I suppose a dishwashing brush would help...I just don't have one!
