I wanted to have a clock on the wall in the bedroom that I could read at night. It is pretty and works well with the room ( I got the sage green). The sensor works so the lights come on when it gets dark. I do not find it too bright, but some might. It is very heavy and thick due to the 4 size c batteries required for the light function. I thought it rather spendy. It is silent, seems to keep time well, and so far the batteries are lasting longer than advertised. I do wish it were not so heavy and sat closer to the wall...it seems like it would be possible to have those functions with less battery power needed. ... show more

I returned one when I first got it because the gears weren't turning. They stopped again and I think that the gear batteries need to be replaced, but I can't figure out how to open it to change them. If I remember right, there were two separate places for batteries. I may have to Google it to see if I can get it figured out. ... show more
