This is great in how it glides flat along the surface, with the sharp blade able to easily shave down protrusions. I use it to shave a little extra height off some through tenons, remove little blobs of glue that slipped by me in a glue-up, and also slightly shave down some finger joints that extended a hair too far. Overall, considering the price, this is a good deal. Just be prepared to put in a lot of work to get the blade bottom flat, and I mean a lot. I spent over an hour on an Atoma 140 grit diamond stone and I still don’t have it all the way flat. You can see in the pics the two spots that are kicking my butt get flat. I have no complaints with the rest of the tool an it took a micro bevel wonderfully. Everything else is good and finished smooth. Considering the Blue Spruce one costs $140 I’m happy saving $100 and putting in 1-1/2 hours of work to end up with a tool that functions the same. ... show more

Purchased this to help a friend hang some new interior doors. The original hinge harder was square. I used a router template for cutting out the bulk of the hinge mortise and then used this chisel to square the corners. It's simple, compact. It is also designed so the chisel can be easily removed for sharpening. Kind of a one trick pony tool. It doesn't do much, but what it does, it does very well....while not costing much or taking up much toolbox space. Built solidly enough. I bought this small plane for trimming down plugs for my woodworking projects but have found it works really well for other common trimming needs. I used it the other day to trim down a run on a painting project after it dried. Also used it to trim down a paint line when we replaced our floor which was thinner and left a long streak. Size: Single Edge Trimmer
I’m debating between a 4 and a 5. This (singled edge) took does better than any similar tool I’ve tried. It trims nicely, but be careful or you will end up with a little damage parallel to the edge on the panel’s surface. This is why I gave it a 4 rather than a 5. I’m curious to see how long it stays sharp. So far I’ve done about 20 feet of edge banding and it definitely is working pretty well. ... show more
