I purchased it to help with my scoliosis and it has done so. I walk my dog twice daily and normally experience pain that requires me to sit for a few minutes several times during the walks. This brace enables me to complete my walks the majority of the time without a need to sit down. This has made a huge improvement in my daily routine. Even if you do not tighten the shoulder straps, it still rides up. I think if the belt around the waist would be narrower that may help it stay below the ribs to provide the necessary support. Otherwise, the quality was good. You are able to adjust it but even though I tightened as much as I could, as low as possible on my waist, it rides up
