I got this for support after abdominal surgery. It was hard to find a small size, and this one works great! Has support strips in the back but they are not hard or stiff. Very comfortable and feels good. Good width, too. My waist is ~ 26”, and if my waist were any bigger, the small would be too little. Nice material and well made! I have had spinal fusion of L4,L5,S1 9 years ago. I recently got a job the requires a lot of lifting and strength. I started with a complete imobilization type brace, with this job 7 months ago. I then moved to a semi immobilization brace, I now that I have built up good core and back strength, I purchased THIS back brace. I absolutely love it! It is flexible enough while giving me the support in need. Minus the 1 star because, the straps that are underneath each velcro strap need to have velcro as well. I'm finding they slip up or down and come out of the brace. (Hard to describe) NOTE: For ladies who struggle with hot flashes, the material does not breath, so be prepared for an extremely warm core that triggers the hot flashes. When I'm working hard, my hot flashes are more frequent and have longer durations, but it is worth it for the amazing support of this brace. ... show more

Tore a muscle in my lower back which was flaring my sciatica, so I decided to try a brace and this one came up. I am not a small person, but my waist is smaller than 50 inches, so I assumed the OSFM would fit me, but it barely fits and is pretty tight. That being said, it has helped me walk around with less pain and has kept my spine straight which has helped healing, but I can't wear it for very long because of how tight it is. ... show more

I’ve tried several different back braces they and didn’t work as well as this one. It’s basic, which I like, has two layers of Velcro for a secure fit. It supports my back both when it’s misaligned or as a preventative support. I can wear this brace while driving too and I won’t say it’s super comfortable :) but back braces need to be tight in order to work properly. It’s comfortable enough to wear all day but don’t wear this all night (while sleeping). It’s not meant for that. Hope your back feels better soon. ... show more
