While the gate does the job, there are several drawbacks that make it far from ideal. Pros: Affordable: This is one of the most budget-friendly gates available, which might appeal to those looking for a temporary solution. Aesthetic Design: The farmhouse-style finish adds a touch of charm and blends well with rustic or neutral home decor. Pressure-Mounted: It’s easy to install without the need for tools or drilling into walls. Cons: Flimsy Build: The materials feel cheap, and the gate doesn’t provide the robust security I was expecting. It feels like it could be easily dislodged with minimal pressure. Lacks Durability: After a few uses, the locking mechanism seems to loosen, making me question its long-term reliability.     • Easy to use and store

Not the highest quality but they are simple ONCE you figure out how to set the lever and lock it in the door space. These are less expensive than plastic versions and i like wood instead of more plastics in our home. They don't require additional hardware and are easy set up and take down to store. They are are low enough to easily step over, but small dogs can't jump over if you don't want to take down repeatedly. We purchased these to keep our small dog in a range while we're gone and they fit the door way space snuggly without marking the walls. I gave it 4 stars because they aren't as easy and good (quality wise) as the originals several years ago...not as tall either. We still have the older ones but one had warped over the years. Good value for the buck, and i liked the color as well. Like i said, wood over plastic any day, as we're learning how bad all these micro plastics are bad and put off gases in our environment. I'm all about organic and natural for my family...pets included. ... show more

There are many reasons why this is a substandard product. -the instructions are printed on the shipping box and largely covered by the shipping label, which can’t be removed without taking the printed instructions with it. -the bottom bumper, which is supposed to fit snugly against the wall in plastic fittings you have to attach to your walls, are so low they butt up. against the baseboard, thus making it impossible to engage the upper bumper. I had to install the gate several inches off the floor in order to get above the baseboards. -the gate must be aligned so bumpers fit into plastic fittings which you have to attach to your walls, ugly and difficult to align correctly. -the plastic clip that secures the gate mechanism in place does not engage and disengage efficiently. No matter how hard I push or pull the lever, it barely slides on or off the bar that adjusts and secures the width of the gate.. so far the gate has stayed in place, but just barely secured by the ‘lock’. -it isn’t an ugly gate, but it is an ugly, inefficient design. Do yourself a favor and avoid this product. I should return the two gates I purchased, but I marked the adjustment bar at the correct size for my doorways, so it isn’t in unused condition. Extremely disappointing purchase. They were cheap, but not even worth that price. ... show more

This gate is the bomb for keeping the dog out of parts of the house that he cant be in. Got it in the same stain color as the door trim is in. Looks like it has always belonged here. Very sturdy and even if he pushes on it, he hasn't been able to get thru. Being a make Boer he can and is very strong. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to set boundaries with their 4 legged companions. ... show more
