I'm pretty happy with this sander. I bought this and used it with batteries I already have. My first use was on my kitchen table which I'm refinishing. It worked great. Went through the batteries pretty quickly, especially the older 2 (I have 3 PC batteries, 2 are pretty old one is less than a year old). I used this sander for some interior finish work cause my plug in gets saw dust all over the place. It was pretty good and easy to use. The negative I have with it is that you don't know which side of the button is power on or power off. They could easily address this. Same with my plug in though. Regarding how long the battery lasts, it doesn't last long. its good for about 10 to 15 min of use per battery depending on how hard you press, etc. But thats not on porter cable....its the work that required that much force and any other company (dewalt, etc.) would have the same issue. ... show more

Works great. Use it often. Only thing I would change is having some directional flexibility with the dust collector. Used on black walnut and juniper boards without any difficulty.

This is a great sander for small projects. The main draw back is the battery time. Even using the 4.0 ah battery the constant run time is limited. You wont be sanding a table top with this but it's great for drawers or small flat projects. The velcro style fasteners for the sanding disks are easy to use and keep clean and the dust bag is convenient A great value overall and works with all Porter Cable 20Vmax batteries.. ... show more
