  • This thing is a beast!
Oh man! this thing sands like it's no one's business. My biggest mistake was starting it on its highest setting with 60 grit. The thing immediately dug into the wood leaving it partially unlevel because it sanded so quickly. In all honesty, having a sander that sands TOO quickly, is like the best problem ever. If I need to strip paint or tackle any old woods, this is my go-to. I also use it for some finishing, using a 220 girt on this thing practically makes the wood shine it's so smooth. I've also had it for 6 months now, and it's still runs like a charm. That being said, this tool is not for detail work. This is for heavy duty sanding and larger long planks. ... show more

  • Decent, but of limited-use
This thing works great, but it's kind of boxy/bulky and really is of limited usefulness. I've ended up switching to other tools for almost everything I thought I could do with this sander. That-said, it works well for adjusting rough-cuts, using it like a bench-sander (upside-down). This tool stays in the garage 99% of the time. ... show more

  • Portable beast mode
This thing is awesome. Note to all “contractors”, If you intend to bring a battery operated anything to a big boy job only to whine about the product burning through batteries then off to the kiddie table for you. This thing is fully capable of any job you throw at it but yes it’s a battery burner: this is ideal for us part time construction guys not full time deck or flooring jobs. ... show more

  • Overheats in minutes.
I love Milwaukee tools. My truck is full of them. So I was very surprised and disappointed in this belt sander. First of all it's crazy heavy. It's a big box shape, that really necessitates a detail sander. I would overlook those complaints, except that it overheats and shuts down in just a few minutes of work. It ruined my day having to work around it, waiting for it to cool down, and then getting what little work I could get done before it shut down again. It's almost useless. Milwaukee needs to take this off the market and replace it with a real professional tool that can handle the work. ... show more
