Description

The 20V MAX XR brushless cordless 1/4 sheet variable speed sander provides you with the power and runtime needed to get the job done. A variable-speed dial provides speed control from 8,000 - 14,000 OPM for a variety of jobs. One-handed locking dust bag attaches securely to the sander to aid in dust collection or the user can attach the sander directly to the DWV010 or DWV012 dust collectors (sold separately). Rubber overmold grip provides comfortable sanding. Paper clamp designed to hold paper securely and for ease of installation. Battery and charger sold separately.

We bought this to fix our old dilapidated mailbox, post and strut. It was too far from the house to drag an electrical cord to use our electric sander. This one worked perfectly to sand the mailbox post and strut etc. down to the point it could be painted. It was light to work with, and small enough to get into most spots. I now have two hand sanders and find myself using both depending on where the job may be. Inside and close to a plug, electric. Outside , the cordless one. I’ve been slowly adding tools to the dewalt battery line up, having started with the obvious driver/drill kit. I watch for them to go on sale and snatch them when they do. I particularly look for ones that add a “free” or half price battery and charger. By themselves, the batteries are way too expensive. (I’ve found it’s cheaper to buy more drill/driver sets on sale that include batteries than to buy the batteries alone!) This sander is a bit heavier than my chorded orbitals, because of the battery, but nit so heavy to detract from the work. I really like this sander. Very handy and powerful. Great to have if you are doing short bursts of work that may require one or two batteries. Past that I would switch to the corded model.
