I like to keep my cars a long time. For decades, I had used the old ways—paste wax and “wax-on, wax-off,” just as Mr. Miyagi told me to. I could only do one car clay bar through to final polish in a weekend. I’d end up tired, sore, and for weeks I would still be finding wax in small crevices. I recently switched brands to Griot’s ceramic line (a review for another day), and bought this random orbital polisher and related Griot’s 5” pads. It did take me a bit to get used to, as I experimented with different speeds and amounts of wax. Wax on pad or car? The orbiter’s battery life (Milwaukee genuine 6.0amp) was terrific—did my track car in one charging. It wasn’t too heavy, but heavy enough to help me with the task. I did not see any swirls or any patterns left at all, and I did have to work some spots harder than I wanted. I tried to use the right pads for each situation, and swap them out as needed. I have not found as much wax in crevices, and I definitely am liking the output. Buttery smooth! All in all, a solid power tool that will be VERY well used. Meets my expectation of Milwaukee quality.

works well. nice to have a variable triger along with the speed options. has helped me learn to buff my own vehicle along with other frinds and co workers cars. easy to use and has low vibration that can cause fatige after awhile if lots of vibrations were around like other options on the market. the cordless option is also a plus and it has plenty of polishing power.

This tool is the one you need. Combine this with Maguiar's products and you'll fix your car's finish right. You're going to need at least three of the larger M18 batteries to paint correct one car, as this tool is pretty power hungry. Your hands will tingle after using it from the amount of vibration this thing makes. I can tell this tool will keep on working for years to come. As a professional mechanic and an amateur detailer, Milwaukee is the only power tool brand I trust. This product is no exception. Buy this one and your search is over.

When I moved into my dorm I grabbed this Milwaukee polisher because I’m weirdly into keeping my old Civic clean. It’s just the bare tool, so I had to steal, okay “borrow,” my roommate’s M18 battery the first weekend. Once it’s running, it’s super smooth and doesn’t vibrate my hands to death. I used it in the parking garage after a dusty rain and it brought the paint back fast while my friend held her phone flashlight. Kinda annoying that for this price they don’t toss in at least a small battery or a bag, so it feels a bit incomplete out of tge box, but the power and control are really nice for a cordless setup.
