I’m setting up a tea stand in my room and needed a hot plate for my teapots. This works exactly as I wanted it to! It’s so cute and has definitely been one of my favorite purchases of last year. It does have a terrible smell the first couple of times you use it but hey I don’t care, I kept using it and it eventually went away. So far so good, I feel safe enough to leave it to boil my water while I watch tv too. I do have to set it to the highest setting to boil water, but my pot has vents so that might be why I gotta go full blast with it. I didn’t have a quarter for a size comparison so I hope a tube of carmex suffices. ... show more

    • Does NOT boil water, drains full-charged generator in 20 mins.
I purchased this because a review stated it was used to boil water when camping from a 500w Jackery generator (which I also happen to have). It took almost 35 min for water to get hot (but did not boil), and drained a fully charged battery from 100% down to zero in 35mins. Not as expected but I’ll keep it for emergencies anyhow I guess. ... show more
