Bought these as a gift for my fiancé as he loves to cook and in the last several months I have been doing a lot of cooking. They aren't too heavy, the weight is nicely distributed and let's talk about how sharp they are! OMG it's a dream how easily they slice through anything, so watch your fingers! Update - I still like the knives and they function well, however, two of them have developed dark spots along the cutting edge. Little concerning since I hand wash them and dry them right away. Concerned about the metal quality. I am truly enjoying these! Love the look of the stand in my kitchen and it is so nice having great knives to work with. Absolutely worth the price. ... show more

I had read nice reviews on-line and watched some You Tube videos prior to buying this set as a gift. The Knives felt nice in the hand and cut very well. The base did not fit well to the board so had to do some modifications. Overall was a decent purchase.

The knives are awesome, perform well, and magnetic board is strong. But you need to know two things. First, hand wash them. You should hand wash all quality knives to protect the blade, but here you also need to protect the handles. The black handles have faded and one is cracking after only a few dishwasher cycles. Second, they won't fit on the counter beneath wall cabinets. You need about 20" of clearance for these, so plan ahead. ... show more

These are good knives, was looking for an efficient, space-saving way to store the knives. The board is not it, and it was a good portion of the purchase price (could've gotten the knives only for much less). Returned this item, but I'm likely to purchase knives-only in the future.
