  • You want to make the perfect hard boiled egg
October 16th- Updated to my review, I had an issue with the induction plate I got an error meaasge. I contacted the seller and they were awesome, they replaced it for me at no charge. With Amazon Prime I got it the next day! I still love this unit. I haven't used my stove in months! There are several reasons why I purchased this induction cooktop. I was originally looking for something to protect my glass stove while I was cooking, like a metal diffuser in my search this product pooped up. I did a little bit of research and saw a bunch of good reviews and figured maybe I would start using this instead of my stove. I will tell you that this is the best purchase I've made in a long time and worth every penny of $50. I wish I had purchased a four top when I was redoing my kitchen induction cooking is the way to go. This particular plate so far is performing like a champ. I've been using it every day with my stainless steel cookware as well as a new cast iron pan. The glass top is spotless no scratches, unlike my brand new GE glass top stove. If I had put this cast iron pan on my stove it would have been all scratched up by now, my expensive stainless cookware has already done that. And quite honestly I'm a stickler, the bottoms of my pans are perfectly clean and shiny too. This cook top is super easy to clean, (unlike my GE stove which I've literally tried everything to get it clean and nothing works, it's a pain to clean, I hate it). So what I've done is purchased a silicone mat, covered my entire stove top and I now leave this plate on top of the stove and use only this for cooking. So on to the egg test. I tried a few different time and heat levels. My conclusion; bring the egg(s) and water to a boil as soon as it's boiling, turn the temperature down to P1 and let simmer for exactly 18 minutes. I don't care how new your eggs are they will crack and peel perfectly. I've cooked approximately three dozen eggs already and each one has cooked exactly the same, also peeled quickly and easily. Another big bonus is the heat, when you're done cooking there's almost no residual heat unlike a stove top which takes quite a while to cool down. This plate, induction cooktop, cools in a minute or less. You can actually touch the surface soon after you pull the pan off. The only heat that remains is what came off the pan and that dissipates very quickly. This is awesome for summer cooking! So far, five stars from me if anything changes I will edit this post. ... show more

  • Absolutely love this induction cooktop
I have been wanting to get one of the induction cooktops for a long time. I am so glad that I found this device. It is very modern and low profile. I love how simple it is to use. I am still new to induction cooking. I am trying to learn how the pre-programmed heat settings corelate to the heat levels. It can be changed to degree C. But once you select degree C I was not able to go back the preset levels. I like that there is a timer which I can just let induction cooktop turns off the heat once the timer is done. The timer always starts at 30 minutes. I wish it would start lower like 10 minutes and I could change it higher or lower. The best thing is that if you hold and press the up or down button it will change that timer faster. But watch out if you press too longer and cycle through, it will send you to 3 hours! I have used this device 95% of the time since I own it. I love it and it is so easy to clean. It is also very quiet and it doesn't heat up your countertop. Get one today and you won't regret it! ... show more

  • Solid and Great for Cast Iron
I didn’t know if I’d like this cooktop that much, since I’d never used one before. But as a cast iron fan, I’m loving this thing! I basically always prefer to use cast iron, but it can be slow to get up to temperature on my electric cooktop. But it heats cast iron up to a sizzle in less than 20 seconds, and the temperature control is much easier to alter during cooking because the response time is so quick. It’s also very nice to look at and doesn’t look bad left out on the counter between use. It’s also much easier to clean than most cooktops. I like the simple controls too, although I’m not sure the degrees Fahrenheit are accurate, so I just use the power setting instead. Edit: the cooktop broke after heavy daily use for about a year. Definitely worth the money, but it just gave out. ... show more

  • Cooks well, but annoying screeching fan.
update: I was contacted by the customer service for the company and they offered me a new replacement induction cooktop after seeing my old review (unchanged below). I received the new cooktop (same model) and discovered it did not screech like the old one. It is still very loud, but it doesn't have that screech, so I think it's likely the first one was jostled too much in shipping and the fan may be loose. The new cooktop works the same otherwise. I am upgrading to 5 stars as a result. I do wish it were quieter, but for the price, I think this is a great value for a cooktop that cooks perfectly and is just noisy. This works well for cooking. Just as other induction burners do, it has a flat surface for easy cleaning. The touch controls are pretty easy to work. The one real problem is that when the fan kicks into high, it makes an annoying screech, I think the fan must be hitting the metal housing. You can't access this without opening it up, which isn't worth it to me, as it's a portable induction burner that I don't plan on using regularly. But it's annoying enough for me to lower the rating. Otherwise, it would be a 5. ... show more

  • Perfect solution
I created a kitchen on a second floor in a large residential work / live property. I tried to avoid needed an oven or stove by setting up two instant pots, one with air fryer attachment, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster oven and microwave. I have a large deep electric skillet, but desired one burner for smaller needs like boiling a large pot of water or a pot of homemade hot chocolate. This cooktop is sleek and elegant. Perfectly sized for a small countertop. Cord is perfect length for safety. Thin and easy to store - like pulling out a dinner plate. It takes the old hot plate concept to a luxury level. The controls work well (it even toggles between temperature setting and timer - and shuts off at end of the timer if set - a brilliant feature for cooking and safety). I highly recommend for small cooking settings, an addition to an outdoor barbecue, or a butlers pantry. It heats and cools nicely. I’ve only had to lightly wipe it down so far so cleaning is a breeze. ... show more
