This is perfect for my bug-out kit. It's lightweight enough that if you keep everything else as small as possible, you won't notice it in your bag. And the physical size is ideal, both for storing and for using. Can't beat it. You'll be able to either boil some water in a kettle, or grill two hotdogs, or grill one hamburger, at a time with this stove. So this may not be the best "grill" for multiple people. The media could not be loaded. Sturdy, (door handle is a little flimsy), easy set up, easy clean up. Makes a great compact fire pit too. I would suggest modifying the grill so there is height for air flow between a pan and stove. I had to lift the pan several times to keep it from smothering the fire. Opening the door on a windy day wasn’t a good option to keep the flames going. This is best used to grill directly on the grates, yet a grease fire would be my concern with hamburgers. Hot dogs would be ok… maybe veggies in a tin foil. This six inch pan was too large to cook on without raising the pan. All in all I really like this little stove and made metal risers to accommodate my pan that fit nicely inside the stove when I put it away in its carrying case. Keep something with it to open and close the door and remove the grates when adding to your twigs, sticks, etc… obviously this gets very hot with refilling. ... show more

This is for camping. I wanted something I could use not only for cooking, but something I could get some heat from quickly in cold weather. Most of the twig stoves could be hard to put together with cold hands. This one nearly falls together and cold hands would not be a problem. I suggest this very highly. ... show more

I've bought many versions of this setup and this one is very solid. You can put a heavy cast iron pan on top with food. It is not light and not great for long backpacking trips but for a short one or camping it's great.

Need something for emergencies or camping? this is it, you can basically burn anything in it and cook on it if your in a pinch. feeding twigs into it is easy and it having a dedicated ash tray is immensely handy. it also feels quality, like if i through this at a wall while its fully built, itd probably smash the wall up.
