I purchased this to add to our pool deck. First, the brackets and mounts are very flimsy, and don't seem to be strong enough to stay together even in a minor rain storm. As stated in other reviews, the assembly instructions are confusing and hard to figure out how to put it together. We finally got the thing up, and immediately discovered that it was not very strong as a free standing unit. It just seemed to be very weak and it didn't look like it would be capable of withstanding any kind of bad weather. We anchored the unit to the end of our pool cage to give it more support. After it went through several rain storms, the whole thing started to sag and the center started to separate. We decided to tear the whole mess down before it fell down and hurt somebody. The only one who actually benefited from this whole thing is my good friend who has a scrap steel business. Believe me, save your hard earned money, and buy a better quality item.

But horrible for water drainage. I've wanted to wait to submit a review until I've had some time and I'm 50/50 with it when it comes to rainwater. I was so excited and it was fairly easy to assemble alone (though I did require help placing the ribbing, extended legs and moving it). It definitely keeps the sun and heat away from our back window which helps during the hottest part of the day. When it rains the water collects in multiple areas and it's already stained from mildew after only a few rain storms. I have to bump the shade to move the water to the drainage holes and ends of shade. I was a little let down that the shade didn't at least cover towards the outer part of the framing so that water didn't drain in between the shade and frame (it covers my back door and that was the secondary reason for buying). Thankful that the shade looks easy to remove though, so that I can periodically scrub the sitting water areas so that it doesn't permanently stain especially after the cost and time.

Looks nice, but definitely will not hold up to windy conditions or heavy snow. Probably a good idea to take off the tarp once the snow season comes. Otherwise, this thing looks like it'll collapse. A nice temporary solution to a little bit of sunshade. Caution: the manufacturer does not send replacement parts. Can't imagine why but they don't. Another reason why I say this is a very temporary solution. But it does look nice and it will provide some shade for the Summer season.

The install was manageable but did require enough fussing with things to think that building it from scratch would be an equivalent task if you have the basic tools. The end result of the Outsunny kit is extremely fragile and flimsy, so you are much better off building your own if your construction skills are at a basic level. Multiple Velcro attachments ripped off in our first 15mph wind. 15!?!? Come on! The feet are bolted to cement anchors and the back is bolted to our outside wall, yet it still seems dangerously flimsy. Water collects in every gap of the ceiling ribs that support the canopy. The only positive thing to say is that the curved shape does look nice. Given our experience, we expect all parts of it to break within the year. We are planning on replacing each part with proper materials as they break. We appreciate the design but would be hesitant to get another Outsunny. Outsunny: Replace the worthless Velcro with eyelets or something else. Anything is better than the paper-thin Velcro! Updated July 14, 2023 - All parts did fail within a year as predicted.

Took a couple hours to assemble by myself. 4 image instruction hit all the points but could be broken out more. Ultimately I needed the frame to provide structure for my sun shade over my plants. Perfect fit and blends with my wife's gardening area perfect. 62 lbs so get a helper and it will be faster to deploy.

Let me start by saying if I knew it was "made in China" I never would have purchased it. It has been up only 3 hours, the wind is at 20 mph and I can just see it being bent in half at one of our strong winds. I know the top isn't going to last, some people say it's not waterproof, but is it sun proof for the hot desert. And on top of it all, I had to pay to have it put together as I have arthritis and am a single woman. Time will tell if it's still up this time next year. Bad BAD purchase! Star rating is a 3 for now. Update 4/11. Up less than a week and already blowing apart and only in 25 mph winds. The pop-up that I bought last year lasted thru stronger winds. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!! UPDATE 7/27/22 30 wind gust yesterday and this thing is in pieces. Water sits on top and pools, the that takes the ribs out and.....need I say more? I was hoping it would last longer than 3 months.
