  • Good -- IF you are already strong and in shape
This is nicely made and easy to assemble. However, it is not nearly as easy to use as the descriptions and videos would make you believe. If you look at those videos on the Amazon page you will notice that all the men are already very muscular and in great physical shape. Perhaps for those men this would be a little add on to their already extensive exercise routine. My husband and I are both in average physical shape. He is quite strong for a mature man and works with heavy auto parts daily. (He just out a complete engine and a transmission in his hobby car by himself!) He does yard work, plays golf and general household tasks. I work out at Pilates three times a week, carry heavy boxes and bags and rearrange furniture, etc.. So we are not strangers to exercise. But we could barely move this Trainer. Once assembled (that was the easy part) we both tried to replicate the exercises shown. We could barely move the device and I absolutely could not do any of the exercises. He could do a few of the lower level ones. I was afraid I would hurt myself if I tried some of them and the device sprung back at me. It does disassemble and fit in the bag that is included (not a very strong bag). But that is just taking it apart and putting it back together time after time. I guess if you were a body builder like the men in the video this might be nice to take on vacation but it is not a complete home workout for someone who is a body builder. And it is not a complete home workout for any average person who can't even move the springs! ... show more

  • Unfit for the unfit
HA! I ordered a few things while I was in a rehab for physical therapy. What a kick they're have gotten there if I had shown them this gadget! It does look impressive and should last even for those who use it (as opposed to anyone like me, who will donate it to a gym). I'm a senior citizen, not that strong, but really, I could never work up to this. "There should be a better description" is all I have to say. I'd never have gotten it. ... show more

  • Pretty Useful--Quality Issues
If you've done bodybuilding for at least 2 years, you should be able to do chest flies with these for a 3x12 and get a decent workout. One other way you can use this is to train arm wrestling by keeping one end on your inner thigh and training arm wrestling that way. The issue is that mine came looking like it had some sort of chemical treatment with a brown streak running down the metal on the side. The little tabs that keep the bars in place are also a bit flimsy, as one of them got stuck inside the pipe. ... show more

  • Useless "instructions" well made trainer
The trainer is well made, however the "instructions" are completely useless. It doesn't tell you the basics about how to adjust tension - or different exercises to do with it - short of a few TINY pictures you can't see, with laughably small text you legitimately can't read. Had to take a photo and zoom in only to find it's meaningless words anyway. So I don't know if I'm using it correctly - I rarely say this about instructions, but I'd pass honestly ... show more

  • You need to be swoll
I can't recommend this particular trainer unless you're already buff and swoll. I'm no slouch, but have shoulder issues which is why I got this. According to the Rufus AI when I asked about the p[ounds of resistance, it gave this answer "This portable chest expander and arm twister trainer includes beginner to advanced resistance options ranging from 40 to 110 lbs." Well it's pretty much the highest setting only. No matter what settings I adjust the bars to, long, short, mixed, it's about the same weight resistance. The instructions are in Chinese with no English conversion. Pictograms don't do much to help. It's also a bit too wide for an average sized person. Can't recommend this. ... show more

  • Great for portable resistance training or in the office for quick sessions
I actually disagree with some of the other reviews; this device gives a surprisingly good workout once you get the hang of it. It does take some strength to bend at first since it starts straight. It really works your chest, biceps, shoulders, and even thighs if you get creative with positioning. The build quality is a little bit cheap but the foam grips are comfortable, and it’s portable, easy to travel with or keep in the office. Beginners might find it tough at first, but it’s great for portable resistance training or in the office for quick sessions. ... show more

  • Hard to squeeze
I have mixed feelings about this workout equipment. The detachable feature is great for portability, but the resistance adjustment is not as smooth as I would have liked. It's also surprisingly difficult to squeeze, even on the lowest setting. It works for a basic upper body workout, but it's not a complete gym replacement. It's an okay piece of equipment, but the resistance is really tough to get started with. ... show more
