My kids are kindergarten age and they were still playing with their little tikes hoop, so I figured it was time to upgrade! They want to join our town team and will be old enough this year and next, so this basketball hoop has been perfect for them to practice and become more confident. The range in height is very impressive; it is the only hoop we will ever need, unless we purchase another for the other size of the driveway! It is well made and priced very fairly.

Alright, let's talk about this Portable Basketball Hoop Goal System. So, the height adjustments are a bit of a "screw-turner" if you catch my drift. Literally, you gotta remove those two backboard screws and reposition. It's like trying to change the channel on an old TV – takes a bit of effort. But hey, for the price, the build quality is about what I expected. It suits my needs for now, especially since my son is only 5. But if you've got teenagers who play a bit more aggressively with their friends, you might wanna invest in something a little fancier. You know, to save you from those "Mom, it broke again!" moments.

This basketball hoop was easy to put together. All of the pieces fit well and I liked that all of the nuts included to put it together were nylon locking nuts. In the packaging there were the tools needed to put it together they worked fine but I'd recommend a ratchet and sockets to speed up the process. The only thing I disliked about this item was that the bolts were all put together in a bag and not labeled. So it took some figuring out before assembly. The instruction manual was easy to follow after I sorted the bolts out and it went together fast.

This basketball hoop has exceeded my expectations. We had a really nice, but really expensive one previously but sold it when we moved across the country. My boys have been asking for another for the last 6 months and now that we've got some nice weather I caved. When I came across this one for a low priceI figured it must be really low quality, but I was wrong. First, it showed up a week earlier than the expected delivery date. My impatient 6-year old talked me into putting it together immediately. My husband is the one who usually does this but he was at work and I figured I'd at least get the pieces out and get it started. Everything went together well and pieces lined up as they were supposed to. The instructions weren't the greatest but my biggest complaint is that all of the bolts were thrown in one bag together and not individually labeled so it took time trying to determine what the correct bolt was for each particular step. I ended up getting the entire thing put together and my husband pulled up right as I was finishing it. It took me, a tired mom in the hot sun, about 90 minutes to do by myself. Maybe less. The only thing I don't like about the hoop system itself, is in order to raise/lower the hoop, you have to remove the entire backboard (2 screws) and manually move it up or down to other screw holes and then screw it back together again. That is going to be a pain. Our last hoop had a lever that allowed you to easily adjust. I think that is what makes up a good portion of the price difference though and makes this one so affordable. But it's worth mentioning in case you need to change the height often.

Overall, this was easy to put together. The tools they included for the bolts were very helpful. It seems sturdy, but I don’t trust it on a very windy day. Even with the base full of water, it will probably tip over. We decided against using sand in the base, as it is easier to empty with water. I do wish there was an easier way to adjust height. You have to take bolts out and redo them if adjusting height. It's fairly easy to move, but we have to lay it down if storing in garage, if it is left at 10 feet high. It is a decent setup for the price.
