Nice cooktop heats up fast. I used a large skillet and it had good heat, water boiled fast too. It does have a flashing red light that stays on permanently, don’t care for that. I’ve only used it twice so far but I think it’s made to last.

Used an accurate power meter to test this because the water was boiling so slowly. Max watts was 1328. It is nowhere near 1800 watts and even the 1328 Watts kept cycling down to 900 watts.
