  • Best pool accessory on the market!
Size: 7,500 - 20,000 gallons Pattern Name: 1 Unit
I’ve been using the PoolRX+ in our 15,000-gallon pool for the past few months, and it has truly been a transformative experience. For years, we struggled with relentless algae problems every summer, which made maintaining our pool a frustrating and labor-intensive task. Thankfully, the PoolRX+ has completely changed that. Installation was a breeze. I started by cleaning the pool filters thoroughly, which is crucial for optimal performance. Once the filters were clean, I simply installed the PoolRX+ unit into our pool filter system. It was as straightforward as promised—no extra tools or complicated procedures required. The results have been nothing short of amazing. Since adding the PoolRX+, our pool has stayed consistently clear, and algae has become a thing of the past. It’s remarkable how much easier pool maintenance has become. What used to be a major chore has turned into a quick and effortless task. We’ve also noticed a significant reduction in the amount of chemicals we need to use. The PoolRX+ effectively reduces the need for heavy chemical treatments, which not only saves us money but also creates a safer environment for our family. With the PoolRX+, our pool water remains clean and balanced with far fewer chemicals, which is a huge plus. The unit has proven to be durable and reliable, lasting between 5 to 6 months before needing replacement. This longevity ensures that we get through the entire summer season without any interruptions or additional purchases. One thing to note is that the PoolRX+ raises the copper levels in the water. While this is a natural outcome and not a major concern, it’s worth being aware of. The benefits far outweigh this minor issue, as the copper helps in maintaining algae-free water. In summary, the PoolRX+ has been an absolute game-changer for us. It has drastically improved our pool maintenance routine and allowed us to enjoy a clean, algae-free pool with minimal effort. I highly recommend the PoolRX+ to anyone dealing with algae issues or looking to simplify their pool care. It’s a fantastic investment that delivers impressive results! ... show more

  • THIS THING WORKS!! Even in the AZ summer months, it cut my chlorine usage in half!
Size: 7,500 - 20,000 gallons Pattern Name: 1 Unit
I've been using this PoolRx device for almost a year and a half. It is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!! Prior to this, I was using a floating Solar Shock unit which I purchased online from Costco. The Solar Shock worked well, but required weekly copper rod cleaning that was a PITA!!! It was messy, requiring you to scrape the copper rod with a wire brush, and soak the screen filter housing in CLR to keep it from getting completely calcified from hard water. During a calcium build-up cleaning by a professional company, I inquired about their weekly pool service (just to see what it would cost). When i got the quote from them, I noticed that they required that you have a PoolRx unit in order for them to honor the price they quoted. I had never heard of it, so I did a quick search and found that it's basically a MUCH BETTER version of the Solar Shock unit. You stick this item inside the pump basket. When your pool pump runs for normal cleaning, the chemicals inside this device disperse into your pool (it's invisible...no noticeable chemical smells or color). As these chemicals pass back through the pump basket, they interact with the copper rod located on the inside of the device and it actively keeps algae from growing in your pool. You still need to maintain some chlorine in your pool, but it has literally cut my chlorine usage IN HALF during the summer months in AZ. I went from 4+ chlorine tabs per week (in the 110+ degree summer months) down to 2. In the winter months, I use about 1 chlorine tablet every 2 weeks. I also have a unique "water wall" that acts like a high-end spa where water flows down the wall and creates a unique ambiance. The top of this water wall has a trough that stores a lot of water and during the summer months, that water can get NASTY in a hurry. I run the pump for this twice a day during the summer months to cycle the water, but with this PoolRx unit, a couple chlorine tabs and weekly shock treatments (necessary for my setup) my pool is crystal clear with absolutely no algae build-up (even when the water temps reach the 90s). Several summers back, even with the Solar Shock unit, I could not get the algae under control and eventually had to drain the pool, get it acid washed and start over. Take it from someone who has to maintain a pool in AZ, this thing WORKS! You need to add the refill chemicals every 4 to 6 months to keep everything working and you need to replace the whole PoolRx unit every year because the copper rod dissolves over time. For peace of mind knowing I won't have algae, the cost savings of 1/2 the chlorine usage, and it doesn't require maintenance...this thing is absolutely getting 5 stars from me. Hope this review helps. ... show more

  • Worth the money, actually works.
Size: 7,500 - 20,000 gallons Pattern Name: 1 Unit
I fight yellow algae every summer. I have tried several algae killing products with limited success. I placed PoolRX in my pool on June 9th and the water was crystal clear the next day. It has remained clear and I have had no algae. This is the first year I have been algae free.

  • PoolRx saved our summer!!
Size: 7,500 - 20,000 gallons Pattern Name: 1 Unit
I waited several months before writing a review to know if it would work as advertised and I am happy to say, it does! We have struggled with algae in our pool for two years. Last summer, we got 5 weeks of use before an algae bloom and battled it the rest of the summer, giving up and closing down the pool with green water. The amount of money we spent on treatments that did not work was incredible. We opened the pool this year and it seemed promising but after a couple weeks, it turned that dreaded teal/green color indicating algae. We used algaecide then flocculant and got clear but cloudy water, then it began turning green again. I read a lot of reviews and decided to give PoolRx a try. We added it while the water was gray and cloudy. It is super easy to set up and we added it to the pump basket, which is the recommended way. It turned the water in the filter blue for a bit, which is normal. It took about two weeks to completely clear the water but ever since, we have crystal clear water despite extreme heat and humidity (perfect algae growing conditions). Our ph and alkalinity levels are perfect. Haven’t had to adjust those at all. We use 32 oz of liquid chlorine every night and maintain 2ppm on that test. It is an amazing product that does exactly what it says it does. We could not be happier. To have gone from being so discouraged that we wanted to get rid of the pool, to having perfect pool water with minimal chemicals is crazy! Thank you PoolRx. ... show more

  • Perfect for our well water pool
Size: 7,500 - 20,000 gallons Pattern Name: 1 Unit
I can’t believe it honestly. I read all the reviews. Everyone said it would work. We’ve struggled with algae all summer long. As 15+yr pool owners, this has never been an issue for us. We’ve tried everything. The first photo was taken June 25th. The second photo was taken today on June 28th. Three days, no extra chemicals, nothing else added and it’s perfect. This is about 6500 gallons of well water. I added it directly to my skimmer and followed the sand pump instructions to run it 12 hrs on recirculate. After that we put it back to filter and just run it as normal. We’ve had a ton of storms as I’m sure you can see from my broken umbrella and even with all the rain, it stayed crystal clear. I’m super happy with it. ... show more

This has worked so well with keeping my pool blue! I’ve been so happy with the pool rx, it’s also helped me not to blow through my chlorine tablets as quickly

  • A Must-Have for Opening Our Pool
Size: 7,500 - 20,000 gallons Pattern Name: 1 Unit
I wouldn’t open our pool without this anymore! We’ve been using the PoolRX for a while now, and it’s made a huge difference in keeping our water clean and clear. Since we started using it, we haven’t had any algae issues, which has saved us both time and frustration. It’s easy to use, works exactly as advertised, and helps make pool maintenance much simpler. For us, it’s been a no-brainer purchase, and I’ll continue buying one every pool season. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Expensive but they work
Size: 7,500 - 20,000 gallons Pattern Name: 1 Unit
While probably overpriced for what you're getting, they are convenient and very effective. You may want to mind your metals if using these if you're worried about staining just to keep a handle on that. I haven't had any noticable staining on my vinyl liner, but I'm not too worried about that. I'm satisfied to wipe out the algae in one fell swoop and to be able to get away with using less chlorine for the whole summer. ... show more
