    • Affordable water pump for a 5.7 Hemi.
This is a well made part. It is made in China, like most aftermarket parts. The pump has a metal impeller unlike many that offer a cheaper plastic impeller. The gasket is very good quality as is the casting and machining. Installation was easy and everything fit well.

    • Great part, perfect fit, a bit of work to install.
Perfect part for my 2008 Ram 1500 with the 5.7l Hemi. You have to reuse your thermostat housing and hardware. Exact replacement for the water pump. Save yourself time and either buy or rent the fan pulley spanner wrench. With one of those the clutch fan comes right off. The sad part about my water pump replacement was that the pump itself didn't fail, it was the O-ring that sealed the black metal tube for the heater hose that was leaking. A 10 cent part could have fixed it. This way, at least I know that the water pump is going to last. ... show more

I typically trust Gates components. The reason that I have rated this at 4 stars was due to the way that this unit was shipped to me. It reminded me of placing a rock in a pop can and then kicking it around. The seal was wadded under the pump like old newspaper. Part of the seal was even stuck between the housing and the pump fins. I inspected the pump and seal, and intend to install it soon. If I need to remove this pump due to leaks or other issues, I will be dropping the rating by 1 or 2 stars. ... show more

Good quality water pump, which went in without any issues... at least, no issues because of the pump. If you're replacing the pump, you should probably replace the thermostat, thermostat housing, thermostat gasket, serpentine belt, and tensioner while you're at it.

I used this on 2006 Dodge Ram Hemi. It fit well. Supplied rubber gasket is sealing very well. Does not come with thermostat or the housing. Longevity is to be learned. Will update after a year.

And this water pump put on my 2005 Ram 1500 after about 20 miles going home from work it blew apart destroy my radiator destroying my fan customer support there was none fortunately Amazon did refund my water pump no more gates products recommend them know

This was the second water pump I had to put on my '05 Ram. This is made much better than the last, other one had a plastic fan and "guts ", only lasted 1 year...get what ya pay for. This pump seems to have all aluminum innards and just feels more solid, should last the lift of ol Cherry now.

water pump went out while on vacation, ordered this one, only 4 stars on the easy install cause is not that easy, not that hard either, lot of stuff to remove and move. So far working like a charm!!!
