    • It's not easy being green, but it's easy to get rid of the green.

This is the best algae control item we've ever used. We've been buying one per season and sometimes, if it's a warm summer, 2. I recently learned that Romans and other cultures used copper to keep algae out of their city baths. This is basically a more efficient option.

We've had pools for 5 years and this year(2025) has been the easiest for chemicals and cleaning with PoolRx. I was hopeful it would help as we have struggled with algae in the Texas heat. This has surpassed my expectation. The water is clear and clean for the past month with minimal chlorine - 1 regular chlorine tab a week for our 6,000 gallons. The Orange/white plastic ball sits in the skimmer, so easy to use. I did follow the directions and ran the sand filter on recirculate for awhile first, and then have been filtering/backwashing/rinsing as normal. Time will tell how long it lasts but based on others reviews it should last the season. I think it is worth what I paid for it, around $50. I would have already bought that much chlorine shock based on last year. I will try to update at the end of the season with thoughts. Update: back to buy another for this year 2026 pool season, we drained and refilled so need a new one. it worked great and we used way less chlorine than previous years! ... show more

This WORKS!! We had a clean, clear pool with NO EXTRA chemicals for months. No algae at all, until the pool pump accidentally got turned off while we were away for a few days. Longevity: It worked for months with no problems, until our error. I will definitely be recommending this product, and will be purchasing again. Pool had algae & cloudy. Bought this and it has some blue stuff inside of what looks like a copper tubing. The blue stuff immediately came out as soon as i put it in the skimmer and I ended up bringing a sample into my local pool store to get the water right. Not sure if i can return this or not but not worth anything because it did nothing to help my pool. ... show more
