Bought to replace an aging Hayward pump that developed a bearing issue. This was cheaper than having the bearings replaced by the shop. Positives: 1) more powerful than the (old) name-brand pump of equivalent size. 2) easier to service the impeller than a Hayward pump 3) 240v setup was a breeze. Negatives: no sort of built in timer, that’s going to be an additional ~$60 purchase Not negatives, but relevants: 1) single speed only. HOWEVER, I had to run the Hayward at max speed all the time anyways to be able to operate the cleaner/vac. 2) included fittings are odd. US fittings fit inside of PVC couplers, the included fittings fit over PVC pipe. Summary: works well for being so cheap. With hindsight being 20/20 I would buy a bigger model, either 2.5 or 3. With a 2” plumbing system it’d deliver more useful power. I would by this brand/China pump again.

i maintain 2 pools, after idalia and helene i bought this as a cleanup pump so i don't have to run any expensive (overly) variable speed pumps i have installed with high salinity water or debris. I put it on a cart with a hose (make 100% you don't have holes leaks in plumbing that would prevent priming). I'll admit i thought this thing would not pump hardly much but man it made clean up of a helene flooded with mud muck pool a breeze and really moves some water. Went ahead and put it in service, connected to a bn-link wifi pool timer, been working great to keep that one pool clean. update: months later still working well.

I tried this pump because Hayward has become so expensive. It ran great for one season. It was quiet but still had a great flow rate. I really wanted this one to last, so I stored it for the winter to avoid it freezing and dry rotting. I took great care of it, always kept the skimmer and pump baskets clean to avoid overworking it. When I hooked it back up this year, it began struggling to start. It finally died today, about 13 months after my original purchase. It got incredibly hot after just a few seconds of being plugged in and started pouring smoke from around the case.

My pump broke so I have been using this for the past month and while it worked well in some areas it left me a little disappointed overall, setting it up was easy don't get me wrong the included accessories made it easy to connect this to my pool system, but I ran into some issues that were hard to overlook. A couple of times the pump shut off unexpectedly during longer cleaning sessions, which meant I had to keep checking on it instead of relaxing by the pool. The suction was fine for basic circulation but struggled to keep up with my pool size.

The media could not be loaded. ….a daunting task- to replace the pool pump. But. It was not that difficult. Yea, had to cut plumbing. All electric was off. Then not bad. The pump is nice. Not too heavy. It replaced a Haywood 1.5. Almost as strong. Works fine. It’s quiet. I used plug in for now. But I’ll hard wire it since it’s been running a week. I figure I can buy a new one like this every couple years compared to the price of Haywood. With my plan to completely replace filter system, I did not want to get pump yet. Later I’ll get all the parts that work well together, but for now. This pumps working fine. I’ve had friends that have had these off names run for years. Let’s see. If you don’t want to spend money on expensive H or P or J pump. Give this one a try. Oh! I use a timer already, so variable speed not a thing I care about. And, in my area of Florida, I have choices.

The media could not be loaded. Pump arrived with no issues. Took about a half an hour to get the cord and connections from old pump to new pump. Very impressed with how quiet the pump runs. I used to have to unplug my old pump from the outlet to stop my old pump but with the switch on the bottom, I don’t need to do that anymore and this way it is a lot safer! So far only had it for a few days but very impressed overall. As it stands, I would definitely recommend to purchase if your in need of a new pool pump.
