Description

This product disperses rapidly to establish a chlorine protection quickly. It stabilizes pool water and extends the life of the disinfectant. Use a reliable test kit to determine the stabilizer concentration in the pool water. Follow the included chart to bring the pool water to the desired range of 40-100 ppm. If the pool is new, just refilled, or has no stabilizer; add 4 oz. of this product per 1000 gallons to give the desired range of 40-100 ppm. Add this product slowly into the skimmer, or if desired, premix in a pail of warm water and then add directly to the skimmer. Be sure the filter is clean. Recirculate the water continuously for 24 hours to dissolve completely. Always maintain the chlorine residual in your pool at 2.0-4.0 ppm and pH at 7.4-7.6.

  • Worked as good as the name brand, at lower cost
Size: 4-Pounds
The grains are small and dissolve easily. I had used a brand name 4-lb bag already and since my 20,000-gallon pool barely passed the PH of 8, I decided to use this one as well. It is very easy to use. I just poured the entire package in the skimmer well and let the pump run overnight. The whole process was straightforward. This acid was suitable for my saltwater pool. The price was very reasonable and actually 25% lower than the nationally known brand. Overall, I would recommend. It was effective and lowered the PH to below 8. It has maintained and is the acid is stable. The water has stayed clear. ... show more

  • Most affordable way to increase your pool's CYA! Try my black sock method
Size: 4-Pounds
Last fall I converted my in-ground pool to salt water but I kept testing low chlorine levels despite the brand new chlorinator running constantly. After doing some research, I learned that I needed to add stabilizer (Cyanuric Acid/CYA) to protect the chlorine from burning off in the sun. At first, I looked into buying liquid stabilizer, but it was way more expensive and I read it can still be a pain to deal with (the acid thickens, settles and clings to the bottom of the jug). So I went with this granular version instead. It's definitely much more affordable, but does take a little more effort to add to the pool. To test how it dissolved, I tried pouring some granules directly into the skimmer basket as directed on the bag. But after an hour or two, it was all still sitting there undissolved, and I noticed some had also collected in my pump's strainer basket. Since I needed to add around 4-5 bags (12-16 lbs.) for my 40,000 gallon pool, I didn’t want to risk clogging the pump or filter. So instead, I poured the granules into a few thick black tube socks, tied the ends, and placed one sock in each skimmer basket overnight. The next morning, the socks had softened into a cream cheese-like texture. I firmly squeezed the socks and the softened CYA mixed instantly with the skimmer water. Once I had squeezed most of it out, I turned them inside out and dumped out the last clumpy bits and watched them dissolved completely. This only took a few minutes and worked perfectly. Best of all, I saved hundreds of dollars compared to the liquid jugs I nearly bought from the pool store! A few days later after I completed dispersing several bags, I retested my pool water and found the free chlorine levels had skyrocketed and the CYA increased to exactly the levels I expected. Great success! I will definitely buy this brand in the future (and will keep some tube socks handy!). Highly recommend! Pro-tip: use a black sock so you can easily visually confirm that you squeezed all of the stabilizer out! ... show more

  • Works fast, works great!
Size: 4-Pounds
last year I discovered that pool chems from Amazon are just as good as pool chems from the pool store, just way less expensive. Opened the pool a couple weeks ago and my stabilizer had totally crashed. Went to Amazon and saw this at a great price and in a quantity (about 4lbs) that should last me a couple years. Got it next day, and within 24 hours my test strips say "OK for pool" and my chlorine levels aren't plummeting after baking in the sun all day. only used about 1/3 of the bag to bring my cyanuric levels from almost zero to good in my ~21K gallon pool that has zero shade. Ease of use: I will note that this doesn't really dissolve immediately in water. Instructions say to dissolve in warm water -- I added some to a bucket of 86 degree pool water and it really didn't dissolve. 86 must not be warm enough. what did work well was just pouring about a cup of the powder into my skimmer (with a skimmer sock) and it dissolved in 2-3 hours with the pump running. will definitely buy again when i need more! ... show more

  • As advertized
Size: 4-Pounds
Works great. Verified with a pre and post test at Leslie's that this did exactly what it said it would. For everyone saying it take a long time to dissolve... Yes, it does. Every bag of stabilizer I have bought for the last 20+ years has taken a long time to dissolve. It's the nature of the beast.

Keeping my chlorine levels perfectly in check now. Used in a SWG pool. Far better pricing than other main brands and pool stores. Would purchase again.
