I’m excited to try this kit for closing my pool this year. This isn’t a small kit and seems a good value for the price. Has what you need to close a 15,000 gal pool. Mine is about 9000 gal so it’ll be overkill for me. Comes in one box with everything including directions sheet that shows what order to add items. You will need a drill or hole punch for the time release winterizer. I may or may not use the shock as it seems kind of clumpy in the package but I may be able to loosen it up by kneading the package. I won’t be able to provide detail on effectiveness until spring time. But I’m encouraged by the good reviews and everything included in the package, which is why I didn’t give 5 stars. But in the spring I might come back and change my rating if I’m happy or not with the results. Follow-up: this is winterizing made easy. I completed my pool closing. First, I made sure my chemicals were at the right levels, and then just followed the instructions given with this kit. Easy. Then covered the pool. The pouches of shock I did use - I just had to loosen them up with my little rubber mallet 1st as the were kind of clumpy. After loosening them up, they were fine. Well, now we just wait for spring to see how the winterizing went over the winter. But I suspect I’ll purchase this next year as it was very easy to use.

The bags of shock were rock hard, unusable. The slow release floater was just filled with a stack of solid chlorine tablets. Do not buy this.
