We have a 20’ foot above ground pool that is very close to trees. For years I’ve been fighting a losing battle trying to keep it clean. I’ve tried vacuums that hook up to your garden hose and they were annoying to hook up and just couldn’t get all of the debris out - plus it added a tremendous amount of water to the pool when using it daily. I tried another popular rechargeable battery powered pool vacuum, and it works well for fine particles, but it didn’t help with the big stuff because the waste bag is very small. I was amazed when I used this bad boy for the first time. It sucked up whole large leaves, small toys that my kids left (or threw) into the pool, and even while hickory nuts that fell from the surrounding trees. No, it doesn’t get the tiny particles, but thats what the pump and filter are for. I love how large the vacuum head and the waste bag is, it gets the job done very quickly without having to stop to empty the bag. I was worried that it would be a battery hog and it really isn’t. I’ve been using it for about 10 minutes every day for about 6 weeks and have only changed the batteries once. You need this pool vacuum!! ... show more

We closed our above ground pool very dirty due to my husband’s stroke last fall. I dreaded opening it up this summer since I am an older lady and would be doing much of the work. We hired a business to pull the cover, clear the swamp water look and remove the leaves. A few days after they left the water was clear enough to see that about 1/3 the leaves were still at the bottom of the pool. With no expectations I started up the leaf blaster and got to work. I was totally amazed at how easy it is to operate and how incredibly effective it is removing leaves and tiny leaf/tree particles. I walked around the entire pool (12x32) slowly and it in less than an hour it looked great. I now use it everyday instead of our Creepy Crawly since one side of our pool is shaded by trees. I wasn’t able to close my pool properly at the end of last season. That meant it had a healthy dose of leaves, helicopter seeds and other stuff. I had to replace my long standing above ground sand filtered pool with a quick setup Coleman pool last summer so I had no idea how to make the weak little pump it came with vacuum well enough to clean the debris. So I bought a robot vacuum. It probably will be fine at keeping the pool clean but removing larger debri was a complete fail. Then I found this! This little little gadget saved my summer. In about an hour I had the floor clean of all large debris. And as a bonus I was even able to use it to clean the surface floaters! For the finer debri I will turn back to the robot. But this bad boy is a keeper! I bought the sealant to use around the battery compartment but it arrived a day after the vacuum. I wasn’t about to wait so I took my chances and went ahead without it. Our pool is surrounded by trees. When we opened our pool there was so many leaves I couldn’t believe it! I tried multiple nets, automatic pool robots, etc. I purchased this and I was truly blown away. I spent several hours going over the pool and this leaf vacuum got ever last leaf out!!!! I can’t believe how it worked so well. After spending a lot of $$$$$ on things that didn’t work, I am truly in love with this low priced machine! It’s easy to use. I was skeptical about this thing before I ordered it and was even more skeptical after receiving it. It looks and feels like a piece of junk but it works so well. I was able to completely rid my pool of leaves and small debris in a matter of 30 minutes. I have no idea why this thing works as good as it does considering the simplicity of its design. It just works. Prior to its first use, I sealed the battery compartment with some waterproof grease to ensure a good seal. It’s easy to use as it rolls on casters and has enough ground clearance to roll over leaves and small sticks. It will not pick up rocks. An overall great buy. ... show more

I loved how this item worked in collecting leaves and debris from the bottom of my above ground pool. Unfortunately, I didn't carefully check the battery compartment when putting it away. I will definitely be replacing it to try again.

This thing was a great buy. I may not use it often but spring clean up was so much easier. I have a lot of pine needles I hate to clog up my filer with and this definitely took most of them of the bottom of the pool. I’m sure I will use it late summer when trees begin dropping leaves

Did a great job. We have quite a few trees near our pool that blow leaves into the pool. I saw comments about the battery case leaking so I put waterproof lube around the cover and made sure is was tight. I wasn't sure if it would have enough suction when I first turned in on and saw the fan was not spinning very fast. I was pleasantly surprised at how well in pick up the leaves from the bottom of the pool (there were quite a few since due health issues I was able to do maintenance on the pool for about 6 months). As I mentioned in the headline the bags don't seem to be fans of the intense Georgia sun. Mine already has a couple of holes in it. But, I ordered some replacement bags so, problem solved.
