I have a vinyl pool in a small yard surrounded by neighbors with big trees. As a result, I get all kinds of leaves and silt in the pool. I wanted something easy to use, lightweight, but powerful. The Catfish can clean my entire pool with one charge. It's small and the bag inside is really small. I didn't think it would work but it does. It sucks up all the leaves into that little bag. Cleaning the bag is super easy. Take it out, flip it inside out and run it under the faucet. I had read that it didn't do great with sand or dirt. It works great. I found the trick is to clean the sand first (before the leaves) and to go slow. My pool is just as clean as bigger pools I've had where you connect the hose to the pool system. But this device is so simple and effective. For a small pool or even as an "in between" cleaning for bigger pools, this is great. Very happy with the purchase.

After purchasing this I've given away all my other vacuums. No more hoses. No more backwashing the filter constantly. Suction is great. It's light and easy to move around the pool. I'd definitely recommend buying a good heavy duty telescoping pole. The bag is kind of small so if you let your pool go for a little while and dirt and algae build up on the bottom of your pool you'll have to stop often to clean out the bag unless you buy extra bags and clean them all after your done. My biggest complaint is the time to recharge compared to the time running. It takes about 4 hours to recharge for only about 45 minutes of run time. If you have a small pool or you maintain your pool and vacuum once or twice a week it's probably not a big deal. We have a 20ft round soft side pool with wrinkles all across the bottom that constantly made our automatic self propelled vacuum get hung up and stop moving. It was more hassle than it to just use this and do it manually.

The pool blaster did a fine job on dirt, silt, twigs and small leaves. It was not effective for small pebbles, shingle granules or large leaves/sticks. Thus a 4 star rating. The fully charge battery was effective for just under 1 hour. I recommend this product because of it's low price.

So I have no idea why I never got one of these before now. My buddy got one for fathers day and said you have to get one. Man was I not disappointed. My wife is a clean freak when it comes to the pool and was vacuuming almost everyday, straight to the pump/filter so that I was backwashing it more than I needed to be doing. That and the hassle of dragging out the hose, hooking it up etc. This works like a charm. Cleans and collects all the trash, does not disturb the dirt so when you are done you see what settles back down and have to go over it again. Used it after a storm and it had no problem with all the leaves and junk. My only issue is that it says to charge for 4 hours once a month but I have to charge it every other time. Maybe because it gets used so much but if that is the only issue we have I will take it.

I would not recommend this unless you want to keep replacing it every few months. Bought in August 2024 and already stopped working 6 months later. Their warranty is only 30 days for good reason. I was very careful with…it never dropped it or turned and off under water and to try and avoid water intrusion but in the end it didn’t matter. The build quality is not made to last. Screws used in areas in the motor housing are rusted. You would think they would be stainless but nope they are rusting. So that makes me suspect that it probably got water inside the motor housing or battery compartment as they aren’t properly sealed. I will take apart and post pics of the inside if they don’t offer to replace it. Very disappointed with this purchase.

This pool vacuum is very small. The head is only 7" wide. It was recommnded by a relative and she said she does her whole above ground pool with it and loves it but she cleans the pool while she is in it. I wanted to clean my from my deck. My 2 biggest complaint is 1. When you twist the nozzel on sometimes it stays and other times it falls off when you are vacuuming the pool and then you have to fish the head out of the pool and what every dirt was in the nozzel is now back in your pool. 2. The vacuum is to light to stay on the bottom of the pool when you are trying to vacuum the middle of the pool. It keeps floating up to the top and that defects the purpose. It would work good if you just had a small pool that isn't very tall. I have a 24' above ground round pool.

The media could not be loaded. I am really impressed by this Pool Blaster Catfish pool vacuum! My pool is 16x24 ft with a 6 ft deep end. I like to keep it really clean and using the hose to the pump is such a pain! So I wanted something to get all the little bits off the pool bottom without having to fight with the hose. Boy did this thing deliver! When I opened the box I felt like it seemed kind of cheap. Well the proof of how good it works was in the filter when I was done. I couldn't believe how much it sucked up! And it stayed charged the entire time I vacuumed the entire pool. I've only owned it for 3 days at this point so I can't speak to the longevity of the product. But for the moment I'm a happy customer!

This is my second Catfish. It works great for getting sand and small debris from the pool. I use it often to keep the pool clean so I don’t have to drag out the hoses and attachments unless large debris get in the pool like after a storm. It is small, so it can take some time if you don’t keep up with it. Not a substitute for your main pool vacuum. Could be for a spa. I would recommend purchasing the fine filter for sand and the fine debris left after shocking the pool. It’s worth it. There have been a few improvements since I bought the last one 5 years ago. You no longer have to remove the end of the vacuum to charge it. It also seems a little stronger. Overall, I have used this vacuum quite a bit, and with the previous one lasting 5 years with heavy use, it’s durable. I recommend it.
