  • Fun and playable, great for kids to learn their way around a stringed instrument.
First, I'll mention some of the pros of this item. It is playable and has a decent enough sound to learn chords on and/or be able to accompany singing. It is cute in appearance (we got pink). It is small enough for my 6 y.o. to hold and play with her small hands. It is affordable enough to purchase even for a child who may not stick with it for long (as has happened with so many other toys/games). The cons include same pretty cheap strings, although I opted not to replace them yet since I am not certain my child won't break a string anyway as she explores her way around her first stringed instrument. The bag was worthless, and I wouldn't recommend paying even a couple of dollars more to have the bag included. The material is very thin, and there is no padding whatsoever. Our front panel was sewn inside out, so although the handle and zipper are on the outside of the bag, the printed design is on the inside! I mean, this bag is so cheap it isn't worth complaining about because even if we were sent a replacement at no charge, it would still be a completely worthless bag. I guess it would keep dust off the thing if my child loses interest. That's about the best I can say about it. Overall, this ukulele does what I expected it to do, and it was affordable enough that I didn't even wait for a birthday or special occasion to pick one up for my daughter. I wish I'd forgone the carrying bag. ... show more

  • Give the Strings A While
Color: Pink
I bought one of the cheapest ukuleles I could find on Amazon for a very young child that very well may break it within a year or two. I was not expecting much, but I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality, considering the price. First of all, Amazon, I do not get your review categories for this instrument. Thickness? This is a ukulele, not a redwood. For beginners? Well, for the price point, sure. That said, any ukulele could be considered for beginners. Finally, I do not think it is fair to this company to have "Easy to learn" as a rating for their ukulele. The ukulele's ease of learning has nothing to do with the individual company. You wouldn't give Honda a bad review because your child failed their driver's test, would you? Anyway, that's why I gave them 5 stars for that. It's a useless category. OK, the review: I have played six-string guitar for 25 years, but I had never played a ukulele until this one. I have to say, I spent the first month kind of regretting the purchase, because the strings would not stay in tune for over a minute to save my life. They have finally "settled," and most of them stay in tune for at least a few songs. Again, I paid a cheap price for the instrument, so I'm not going to complain too much about that. I'm a firm believer that you should be fair and take price into account when giving a review. For a cheap ukulele, this one has a great, classic ukulele sound. Is it concert quality? Probably not. It will be plenty fine for a campfire, though. I don't know about you, but I hear more ukuleles at campfires than in concert halls. ... show more

  • Great Starter Ukulele
Color: Brown
This ukulele is a great starter uke, definitely worth the money. If you're looking to see if you want to get into playing without breaking the bank, this is definitely the way to go. It was easy to tune up, and after about 4 days, the instrument held its tune no problem, just a slight tune needed every so often. The nylon strings were easy on the hands and easy to maneuver. In terms of the instrument's build, there wasn't much of a problem. For under $30, don't expect much. The brown was nice-looking, but not the softest feel to it, it seemed unfinished. The frets were ever-so-slightly curved, making it just a tad harder to hit chords on the G and A strings. But it was still manageable, nothing out of this world. Overall, a great value for your money if you want to find out if Uke playing is for you. ... show more

  • Great for a toddler
Color: Light blue
I got a ukelele for myself and my 2 year old wanted to play with it so badly. I bought her this one because its cheap and cute. She absolutely loves it. It does not stayed tuned very well but I was buying for a toddler. She plays with it every day and hopefully she will get into really wanting to play it. This is a great starter but if you want something better go with a Kala. This is pretty durable though for a toddler who is pretty rough with it. Hasn’t cracked or broken it yet or broken any strings. Have had it for 7 months. Very pleased and worth every penny. ... show more

  • Great little uku
Color: Light blue
I love this ukulele, it's a perfect option for someone just starting out. I was worried by some of the reviews saying it doesn't hold tune but it's normal for the stings to adjust to being stretched after sitting loose for so long. The first couple weeks you will have to tune it each day before you play but it's never that far off from the note and you will notice its closer to the note each time you pick it back up. The soft stings are easier on your fingers compared to guitar strings so this is a great option to learn the basics of how to play, most people find it easier to learn the ukulele. Definitely a great value and the blue is absolutely gorgeous! I would absolutely recommend this product. ... show more

  • This was someone's return
Color: Light blue
I'm really glad we opened the box to check out the ukulele, it was gift wrapped With a (from) card from someone else. Upon inspection the ukulele is in fine shape and will make a good gift, but it came close to being a gift giving disaster
