Hands down, the most beautiful ukulele I have ever seen. The web page photos do not do it justice. The acacia gloss finish is perfect and the black trim complements the design perfectly. The abalone ring with tones of gold and black is a nice touch. The larger body creates fantastic resonances. Tuning is a breeze with the built-in electronics, and they even sent an extra pair of batteries. Comes with a case and a nice set of goodies, including a 1/4" cable to connect to your acoustic amp. Very good sounding, warm tone, and very good craftsmanship. Once the string stretch, it stays in tune. Overall I definitely would purchase again. I guess I have to say I did ! I bought my wife the same one. She really likes it. We're both learning together, kind of " she's better at it then me " but it's fun. The first song she learned was "Amazing grace " ... show more

Just tuned it up (built in tuner) and it sounds GREAT! No buzz and nice action. Looks great too. And included a bag, picks, extra strings, etc at a good price. Unplugged it's loud and clear and just as good through an little practice amp. This is a bargain.

This review is for the laminated and solid wood models. I own both and am an advanced amateur. Both models: The tuning gears are sloppy but usable. The finish is poor, however the wood is matched well. The product photos are pretty accurate. They look good from 10 feet. The tuner/preamp are very low quality. The batteries die quickly and the amp output has very noticeable distortion. Not suitable for recording or performance. Once adjusted (not for novice) the fret-boards are smooth and action low (good) with no buzzing. Solid Wood: Good tone. Gorgeous book-matched top, back and acacia grain. The high gloss finish has runs, sags, fish-eyes and glue runs. Do not buy if you want an instrument grade finish. The neck did not need adjustment. Laminated: The lack of final sanding overshadows all other good qualities. It is not a smooth matte but very rough to the touch. The neck is not smooth! Sounds dull or muted compared to the solid wood. The neck did need adjustment. I returned the laminated uke and use the solid wood one often. At $199 the solid wood model is worth it even with lack of good electronics. The $139 for the laminated model is a bit steep. ... show more

Gorgeous instrument, well made, eye catching, onboard tuner works well and easily. They include extra batteries and loads of other things and supplies. Love the design on the shoulder strap included. Clear tone with adjustable neck which is so nice though it arrived set perfectly so that feature may not be all that since they did such a great job building this thing. This uke is a great deal. Beautiful solid wood with a nice finish, built in electronics powered by a small CR2032 type battery, with a case, and strap. It sounds really nice. Plays like the 4 top strings on a guitar. I am very pleased with this, especially for the meager price
