At this time I am giving only 4 stars but can come back and elevate to 5. The style, the workmanship and the color are very good. Like the handle etc. Noticed the inside and bottom were stainless steel which appears to be durable. Workmanship is good. I wish I could have gotten a lime green that has the color appearance as this blue teakettle that I got has. I would have chosen green, but thought the color in this on was too dull. The blue which also goes with my kitchen colors is beautiful. Had to use it tonight for heating water for hot chocolate. I always use defusiors on my gas stove top. I checked the progress and there was no noise from the whistle. A small amount of steam came from around the lid, so I poured th water. It was sufficiently hot. I will check later to see if the whistle works. The handle was fairly hot so used pot holder. I am very satisfied with the teakettle, but hope that the whistle will work. I especially like the size, It is large enough and not too heavy nor too big to use. We shall see how this endures with one who will use it frequently.

I've had this kettle for about 18 months and I'm starting to see the "paint" peel off. So, if you're like many other people with kitchens that keep their kettle on the stove when not in use, make sure to remove it out of the way entirely before cooking. The heat and grease exposure is causing the paint to crack and peel off, exposing the stainless steel underneath. Otherwise it's a great kettle and looks nice. I should also note that the handle is not wood. It's silicone, which is great actually. Also, the button to release the lid is nice. It opens and closes nicely and it too is coated in silicone. Please keep in mind that after 18 months it JUST now started to peel. I won't be purchasing again cause my cookware has changed, but it was a nice kettle.

Teapot is very good and does what it is supposed to. When opening teapot to pour right after whistling it is notorious for splashing hot water drips on the top of your hand if you fully open the spout.

This is a beautiful kettle that looks great on my gas stove. If you keep the gas burner on low/medium, you can pick the kettle up with your bare hands. However, if the burner is up too high, the handle gets too hot to pick up…just a quick tip. Would definitely buy again!

Received as a gift. Really like the look of it and the handle doesn't get as hot as my old kettle. I also like that it is steel and not teflon. BUT the whistle is not as loud as my old kettle. Overall decent quality.

This tea kettle is beautiful. And it works perfectly! It is used daily and still looks good as new. Sometimes the lid is hard to remove but that could just be user error. I love this and would buy this again for myself or as a gift for tea lovers in my life.
