    • It is a beast and does what it's supposed to do. Easy to operate & clean.
I'll be honest. I wasn't too happy with the price of this unit. I thought it was too expensive. However, all those thoughts started to fade away when I put this puppy in my pool and let it rip. My old robot had done an admirable job, but wasn't up to task for this season, (it broke). Rather than fix it, I chose to get this new unit. My pool was filthy when I put the Polaris in. After an hour and a half, I'm not going to say the pool was sparky clean, because it literally was a cesspool before it went it. The filter basket was full of gunk and there's no doubt that this unit was working hard to do its job. After cleaning the filter and letting it do a couple of more cycles, it had cleaned the entire bottom and sides of the 40 x 20 pool. No more visible algae or green crap on the bottom & sides of my vinyl lined pool. All the evidence that it was working was inside the super easy to clean filter basket. It also comes with this nice little caddy where you can put it after its done its work, coil up the 50ft cord, and put it away in a pool house, or in the shade. I did my research on this unit before buying it. It appears to be easy to get parts if needed and it also comes with a two year warranty. I went ahead and bought the extended warranty from Asurion for another two years. So my almost $1000 investment in the pool cleaner is protected for at least four years of worry free operation. Lets hope I never need to use the warranty and I do, that its in year four! ;-) ... show more

This pool cleaner works very well. It climbs onto sun shelves & steps without a problem. It is important to make sure all of the air trapped in the unit is out when submerging it in the pool, otherwise it loses traction for climbing efficiently. Other than that, it works perfect and is easy to care for. Its now 6 mos later, I have used the Polaris every other day with NO issues! This product seems bulletproof. It cleans extremely well, the filter is easy to lift out & clean, and the unit is virtually maintenance free. I love a successful time & back saver! Take care! I've had my in-ground pool for about 2 months and I've run Gary (we named him after a certain pet snail from a certain cartoon) dozens of time. He cleans the pool pretty well but there are a few annoyances that I think might plague any robotic pool vacuum. Sand/dirt accumulate at the angles where faces meet (such as where bottom meets side) and Gary never really goes there. He crosses those corners and his suction is too far away to pull in much. My biggest beef is that he nearly 100% of the time gets stuck on one of the two drains in the deep end. I started him up this morning and just checked my security camera and sure enough, there he sits, directly above one of the two drains. I have no idea how far into his 90 minutes run time he got stuck there. My drain covers stick up quite a bit, so you won't have this problem if yours are flush or pretty low profile. As for those corners, I have to clean them manually periodically no matter how many times a day I send Gary to do the job. ... show more

This Vacuum is worth buying, I own an underground pool and it cleaned it amazingly. Not only did it pick up all the leaves but it also picked up sand that was in my pool, it also climbs the walls of the pool and brushes them. I would highly recommend it

    • It Just Doesn't Clean the Pool
There are leaves all over the bottom of my pool. The Polaris P825 literally drives right over them and doesn't suck them up. Repeatedly. It's like it just stirs the leaves around on the bottom of my pool. I purchased it two weeks ago. It seems like it's consistently gotten worse in that time. It does have dirt and soil in the filter basket each time, so I know it's sucking something. The included Polaris cart feels flimsy. I'm using my old Dolphin cart. I regret assembling the Polaris cart at all, because now I will have to spend the time to disassemble in order to return it. I was coming from a Dolphin Triton PS Plus that worked wonderfully, but for only 2.5 years. It cleaned much better and the scheduler option was helpful. I was frustrated that it lasted such a short time, so I decided to try a different brand... Back to the drawing board for a sub $1,000 machine with quality build that actually works. ... show more

I deliberated for months, reading all the reviews from professional pool installers, equipment reviewers and obviously from purchasers. I chose this machine because of the price point and also functionality and purchaser reviews. This machine has not failed to deliver. It climbs the walls nicely, cleans all the way to the top step and does it quickly and efficiently. It is so easy to clean the filter afterwards too. This comes with the caddy. It was simple to put together, simple to use and it did a great job. It climbs the walls with ease and scrubs the water line. The filter basket is easy to take out and clean. My pool had not had a good clean this year and picked up every thing including some green slime. I was prepared to spend several hundred more on other models and brands, but after reading the reviews I chose this and I am very pleased with the purchase. ... show more
