Nice heavy duty manual log splitter. I’ve never seen a design like this and was intrigued. This is a solid piece that is well made and durable so it should stand up to some abuse and heavy log splitting. The tip / chisel end is nice and heavy and should bust through some decent logs. I used it on smaller to mid-sized logs and these split apart easily. This is also useful for smaller wood / logs to make kindling. You can easily split up a pile in no time. The up and down sliding motion to split the log was easy to do and seemed like a natural movement - so doing this repeatedly won’t be an issue. This came disassembled but assembly was simple and only took a few minutes. Overall this is functional and well made log splitter. Definitely recommended if you have some moderate sized wood you need split. ... show more

A great concept but needs a better design on the middle guide/slide bar. It will not stay tightened. The unit came very well packaged. The splitter portion weighs almost 4lbs and the actual handle ram weighs about 5lbs 8 Oz. It assembles easily with the tools included in the hardware bag. You dont need any other tools . The nuts and bolts tighten well, however, back to the problem. The guide rail/rod comes in two sections and must be fastened together with a long threaded rod. It tightens sufficiently, however, after about 4-5 log splits it is now loose and coming apart. I disassembled and cleanded the threads ( nothing stripped or cross threaded) and applied red loc-tite. Well, after about 10-14 logs it is loose again. I will reattempt the thread compound and let it set even longer than instructions indicate. If that doesnt work I may tack weld the two pieces together. The metal is thin so wish me luck. ... show more
