I don't write very many reviews, but I thought that this pump deserved one. During heavy rain, my grease pit in my shop floods and fills up with water. The pit is 4 ft. Wide 6ft. Deep and 20 ft. Long and I had water about 4 ft. deep. This pump worked wonders, it drained it down to about 3 inches deep in less than an hour. It keeps the 2 inch discharge hose solid with water the entire time . I didn't completely submerge it, just kept the impeller section below the water surface and had no issues whatsoever. The only drawback is that the pump can only pump water down to about 3 inches deep unless you put it below grade. Which is nothing wrong with the design, as it's not made to do anything differently. All in all, I would highly recommend this pump for anyone needing to remove a lot of water fast. It's rated at 53 gallons per minute and I believe that it maintains that very well.

I use this pump primarily for draining pools in preparation for new liners. These are high quality and have lasted 5 years of hard use.

The pump itself appears to be very well built and works as advertised. I did have to buy a 2" coupling to connect the quick connect hose discharge fitting supplied since both the pump and hose adapter have male threads. The big problem I had was with the packaging. I had to send the product back for replacement since box arrived ripped open with the pump discharge fitting sticking out. The sealing surface and some threads were damaged. The replacement arrived promptly but also some package damage in the same area. The discharge fitting appeared ok. I think the vendor needs to work on protecting the product better during shipping. The pump is basically loose in the box with no supporting packaging. This makes damage possible from rough handling or dropping during shipping. Other than the packaging problems, I am very happy with the pump.

Right out of the box you can tell by the construction and weight that this isn's some cheap pump. I have a pond that is ~12000 gallons with a heavy duty rubber liner. I use it for irrigation and swimming in the summer. Over the winter it accumulates quite a bit of sludge (a muddy, leafy, dead bug concoction) and needs a spring cleaning. This has always been one of my least favorite jobs. Well, it still is, but it just became a heckuva lot easier and more efficient. I used my irrigation pump to lower the pond level to about 18 inches. Then I hooked up the trash pump. It pumped out all the sludge up to about an inch. Then what I did was I shoveled the water soaked sludge (not even enough to fill a garbage can) in a garbage can, put the pump in and finished the job. This product is well worth the money. Oh, and I purchased the 50" collapsible heavy duty outlet hose to go along with it.

Best pump you can buy

Our backyard is the lowest point of all of our neighbors and when it rains a lot we often get flooding. We have a sump pump out there which usually takes care of it, but when we get a heavy snow followed by a warmer rainy day, it can’t keep up and we get a pond. This little pump packs a big punch! I hooked it up to a 100’ hose that I ran to the storm drain out front, dropped this guy into 10” of water and plugged it in. Immediately the hose filled up and water was gushing out the other end, even with a mild incline along the path. Within 15-20 minutes the water level was down to just an inch or two, even with all of the leaves, twigs, and other yard debris that would have clogged our sump pump. The only downside is that it can’t suck up the last couple of inches of water due to the design. With our sump pump that wasn’t an issue for us. I then moved the unit over to the other side of the yard behind the shed, which also flooded. That area has dirt and mulch all around it, so it was even worse debris-wise. After digging out a 4-6” deep hole to drop the unit into, I plugged it in and within just minutes the flooding was dealt with. Once or twice I did move some of the debris away from the suction ports, but that was just to get it working at maximum speed. It wasn’t getting clogged, it was just taking a bit longer to extract the water to pump away. I ran it again later when we got more rain and it still didn’t clog even without clearing it. Overall very happy with this purchase and thrilled to have a fast solution to our flooding problems whenever they happen!
