I am on the fence with this. It does look pretty in total darkness, and it lights up beautifully. However, in the daylight it really looks like the ose cheap fake flowers that my grandma used to have in her living room ๐Ÿ˜† The mushroom caps were loose in the box, so I had to attach them- no big deal. Right now, my preschool-age daughter and I are having to share a room because we're staying with relatives for a while, and she's afraid of the dark, but I can't sleep with lights on. My mother-in-law had string lights in the room, very pretty, but way too bright. One of those projector lights? Also too bright. Everything my little one wants on is WAY too bright - this little nightlight was the perfect solution. We took the flowers out because I'm not a big fan of fake flowers, & she wanted to play with them anyway. I think it looks better on its own, and they're easy to remove and also easy to put back if you want to. I LOVE that the light is triggered by the level of light in the room - it doesn't just turn on when it gets dark, it's brighter or dimmer as well, based on the level of light. So, at dusk, it's on, but not super bright, but late at night when it's super dark, it's brighter. And it's bright enough to be able to see around the room and see where you're walking, but not bright enough to keep me awake! It cycles through different colors (and each little mushroom is a different color), it's really quite cute. I like the colors reflected on the wall; it's sort of calming to watch, actually. And it's a great price for how cute it is. Usually, for under $5, you'll only get the most basic nightlight.
