  • The best coop out there right now!
The only negative thing about this coop is the instructions are a little unclear. But it’s pretty straightforward and easy to figure out. Everything else about this coop is amazing. It’s made out of very durable thick plastic pieces and once put together it’s very sturdy. The chickens love it. The roof comes off really easily so that you can clean out the nesting boxes and the coop. It’s even easy to take out and clean the roosting posts. My chickens like to walk underneath it when it’s hot out and be under the shade. I think the coop is also VERY safe. I don’t worry about predators getting in it because the way the pieces fit together it’s sealed very tightly all the way around. We are very happy with this purchase!! I feel like it’s going to last forever. ... show more

  • 2 year review - Still love our coop!
We’re now over 2 years into using our Nestera coop and we’ve been really pleased. We live in a place that gets well below 0°F in winter and over 100°F in summer, and our chickens are doing great. We added a thin panel heater (Cozy Coop) this winter and had no frostbite even at close to -30°F. Two years in, and the plastic is like new. I've been super happy with the durability. It's super easy to clean, and I take the nest box off to dump it out. It took about two hours to assemble with my five-year-old “helping”. We bought the large raised coop and the wheels. If you plan on moving it around either buying the wheels or fabricating some will be necessary (I really like the Nestera wheels, they’re more durable than I had envisioned). Lastly, we needed to deal with customer service over a part that I damaged and they were great! Prompt service and they helped me find a solution. ... show more

  • Great value
I bought this, spending roughly twice what other similiar coops cost, because it was plastic and well designed. Every review of other, less expensive coops talks about broken parts, jury-rigging assembly and generally thin construction. This coop delivers on design and is sturdy once assembled. However, the main back piece had slots and holes that were undersized, so what should have been a quick & easy snap together assembly turned into a much longer process involving files, drills, and sanding tabs to fit into undersized slots. Pretty frustrating at this price point, though once assembled, I am happy with the end result. ... show more

  • Maybe this works in England
Color: HOUSE
The plastic isn’t particularly “strong”. I don’t expect it would do well with sub-freezing, snowy environments such as we have. I don’t think is it particularly well suited to hot weather either as we were in the upper 80s and the plastic seemed overly pliable. My chickens are more interested i hiding behind it rather than in it. The door just needs a sharp edge to make a great guillotine. I’d worry that my chickens might be hurt if the string breaks. I like the concept, but improved is needed. It does not support deep bedding. Hopefully I can adapt it to make it work inside a run. ... show more

  • Nestera coop very sturdy
Color: HOUSE
The Nestera coop is very sturdy and easy to clean. Was not difficult to assemble and turned out nicely. Highly recommend for about six normal size chickens.

  • Nice coop, but accessories ... not so much
We received the large, raised henhouse advertised for 8 chickens. It is a bit snug for our 6 chicken flock. Assembly was straight forward, and I commend the innovators for getting it all into flat packaging. We did have to fine tune a couple of parts to fit together but would rate the coop ONLY as a 4+ out of five * IF * you don't live where the weather turns cold. There are large gaps where the side panels fit together that will need to be either sealed or taped up for winter use; the back easy off panel required a screw to close the gap. We bought accessories directly from Nestera US. The customer service lady was terrific; she nicely shipped out the accessories after just a brief delay. A bent axle for the wheel set was never resolved and the wheel set is nearly useless because it is not located closer to the center of gravity for the coup (and, there are no handles with which to ease moving) ... which means that even if you detach the run and any extension, moving any distance on flat grass is an exercise in futility - necessitating a stop every few feet to regain a handhold and tip the coop for rolling. The run and extension are made of relatively heavy material and, by themselves are quality accessories; however, once attached to the coop a whole new set of issues arise ... the edges of the screening around the hinged door portal have not been finished smooth which means that both my wife and I have permanent cuts / scars from putting hens, food, and water into the coop run! An outside-the-run feeder / waterer is a must! The door could be larger for even medium sized hens. When attaching the run extension, we found the top arches did not match ... likely due to shipping as the coating was rubbed off in several places. Adding the Nestera auto opener combined with the run is challenging because with the relatively low height of the run, there is little clearance for the "opening string" to clear ... and bending over the run to access the timer body makes it difficult to set / reset the opener. The plastic is very easy to keep clean although the trays do not fit snugly and there is always debris around the edges and near the door "channel". We would not buy any of the accessories again, but the coop, itself, is GREAT so far after about 9 months and three seasons! ... show more

  • Very impressed
I am new to chickens. I ordered this based on reviews from other customers. It was very easy to put together. Clear instructions. And has already been through to rain showers with no leaks. Very weatherproof very durable.
