  • my front mirror is useless these days
These subs are absolutely phenomenal, have them in a ported box 4.2 cubic feet tuned to 32hz with 6 inch port and they SLAM! powered by a AudioPipe APCL15001D and these get soo loud, my front mirror is useless these days. DO NOT SKIMP ON THE BOX i went ahead and got a custom box made and i do not regret it one bit they hit the lows 20-35hz like a champ. I just cant believe how hard they hit for 80 a piece and they still are not broken in yet. Pioneer has seriously stepped their game up, BUY THESE SUBS i guarantee you wont regret it one bit! ----------------- Update: almost 2 months later and they are broken in, they still sound amazing i've managed to get windshield flex and my wipers jumping up and down, these subs are awesome! the first couple weeks they will be a little stinky because of the break-in period but after that no smells what so ever and they bang hard. --------------------------------------------- Had these for 2 years now and still going strong, my APCL 1500d died recently so I upgraded to a Soundquebed s1-2250 (2300w at 12v) and these things SLAP. very good sub for 80 dollars, the key to making these last is clean power. They seem to hate being under-powered more than overpowered. ... show more

  • Sounds better than the shallow-mount type
From Singapore. Driving a 2017 Kia Cerato K3 using factory-fitted Motrex HU. For this audio upgrade, added a Pioneer GM-9500F 4ch amp,GM-9601 mono amp, AudioControl's LC7i L.O.C, with this sub in a DIY 1.5cu.ft ported enclosure. Sub is wired in parallel for 2ohms. Mono amp cutoff freq set to 60Hz, gain setting at 'H' mark(4V input). LOC's accubass control knobsL Threshold at 10 o'clock, Level at 12 o'clock. HU volume typically around 12/40, for me is loud enough but definitely not wake-the-dead loud cuz I treasure my ears. Monoamp comes with a bass level control knob installed near driver's seat. Not going into SPL competition or heavy-bass-driven songs - Listening to anime, retro, metal rock and radio. Delivered bass is rich, full and deep w/o any buzz/distortion. Did not hear any panels rattling. This sub makes good songs sound Great, crappy songs sound good. Even when my car reached destination I still linger in my seat for few minutes to enjoy the music, hesitant to get out. When music is playing and I look at the sub, can see the cone vibrate but not in the manner seen in youtube with crazy excursion, lots of buzzing with panels and windshields vibrating. I don't understand why bass freaks even consider this 'good bass'. What's the f****g point in a bass-driven song when the bass overwhelms the song itself?? In my case, each bass note hits strong and clean without buzz, vibrating panels or distortion. I use the remote control knob to tune the amount of bass needed to complement the song as my mp3s come from various sources - I don't want and don't need overwhelming bass. Previously had a pioneer TS-SW2501S2 10" shallow mount sub but its bass doesn't go as deep as this TS-W3003D4. If you want to get a sub, do yourself justice and get a full-sized sub and not those shallow-mount types unless really have space constraints. At the very least, make a tight enclosure for the full-sized sub if no space to make ported. ... show more

  • Excellent speaker, buds are junk
Used this to replace a shredded cone on an ancient Realistic SW. Slight box mod to fit and screwed it down. Significantly better than the original! The earbuds are junk, but that isn’t why I bought this anyway.

  • A lot of bass, with sound quality, this is the sub for you.
I've had many brands of subs over the years. I only run quality stuff, correctly amplified. I bought this Pioneer to go under the rear seat of my extended cab truck. I wanted as deep of 12" as I could get under a certain mounting depth, and this one was perfect. I have it hooked up to an Alpine MRP-650 at 2 ohms, in a sealed .92 cu foot enclosure. I ran it on low for a few weeks to break it in. This sub hits hard and tight. I listen to all kinds of music, and it hits hard enough to satisfy my hip hop listening, and stay tight enough for my rock and country listening. I'm sure in a ported enclosure it'd loosen up a lot for those who only listen to hip hop, but for me, sound quality while also providing tons of bass is important to me. This sub is an excellent value. Don't be fooled by the reasonable price. This is a very high quality sub. Great job, Pioneer. ... show more

  • Today I decided to put it up to 100% and not long after half a song was done playing there was a final thump and my car started
I had one of these single subs in a ported box powered by a Pioneer GM-D8601 amp. It had a funky smell for the first month it was breaking in after that it bumped really loud. I always played it at 50-75% with the bass controller provided with the amp. Today I decided to put it up to 100% and not long after half a song was done playing there was a final thump and my car started to smell like an electrical fire. It worked great for what it's priced, but I guess the single sub couldn't handle that amp. Purchased Jan. 30, 2017 and it blew June 6, 2017 ... show more
